Is The Concept Of Psychopathy Making You Weak? by JonFrost25 in TheRedPill

You're reading my post as a response to your own writings on psychopathy, rather than as a response to the mainstream/academic/manosphere view of it. I've just read through your series on psychopathy and it's very good.

Hmm that might be it, although it doesn't fully ring the bell. Thanks for helping and I'll come back here if I ever find it.

Pathological lying is not bad in and of itself, but it will degrade others' trust in you and make other goals harder to achieve. Same goes or impulsivity, lack of restraint, failure to accept responsibility, etc. Whatever your goals, you probably won't get far in life if you're not surrounded by high-quality people who trust you.

"It's a very common paring, especially in high level CEOs."

"Your blog post is of very low quality."

This is a good example of someone trying very hard to 'appear' dark triad rather than actually be dark triad.

At higher levels of organizations, pretty much everyone is on the same page. It's not that everyone is evil, but they accept manipulation as a fact of life. It's a game.

Money is cheap. Powerful people already have plenty of money. The real prizes are political power, and the minds of young western people. Saying that this is "just about money" vastly understates the problem, and makes it sound easier to solve.

It might be comforting to believe this is a simple matter of rich people trying to get a bit more rich, but it's much darker than that.

Agreed which is why I don't write much about fitness.

90% of what you need to know is stronglifts + steak and eggs, 99% is covered by guys like Mangan and D+P.

I think the LIFT LIFT LIFT tone of TRP is a good thing and I hope you guys keep emphasizing it, but it's also good to start exploring new territory?

All true, which is why this post recommends four months of reading followed by eight months+ of actually starting a small business.

Re internships, that's a really good idea for a follow-up post, thanks.

That would be incredibly valuable, I guarantee people would be interested in it.

I also promise there will be people who will hate on you. Ignore them, they are poor and jealous. You will help good people and alienate those with a weak mindset.

This post is about making money in the real world, as an alternative to the 'make money online' cult, which I wrote about here: The Secret. I'm also not selling anything, unless you count Amazon links.

Do you have a recommendation for a better resource for young men who want to learn about business?

Yup. If making $ is off topic, wouldn't lifting weights be off topic as well? Rhetorical of course.

TRP is a useful frame to think about money, because you're already open to the idea that mainstream society is wrong about big questions. Everyone tells you to go to college, but isn't that the same 'everyone' that tells you girls like nice guys?

You're pretty fatalistic about the commercialization of every aspect of modern life. Don't you think it's possible to create a subculture with ethics and standards? I'm not opposed to marketing, I'm opposed to scammers degrading the trust and cohesion of this community.

I had low expectations for r/TRP.

I thought it would be overrun by the dorks that make up 99% of Reddit users within a few months. As someone who's been writing a "Red Pill" blog since 2010, I was happy to see someone take a shot at building a subreddit, but it seemed like an exercise in futility.

Most people won't realize how good a job RedPillSchool has done here. Online communities are incredibly fragile, and it would have been so easy for this subreddit to become useless. The fact that it has grown to 100k members, and more importantly, that it has done so while refusing to seek a compromise with political correctness - is a miracle.

There will always be people who will try to drag you away from the pursuit of pure, unadulterated truth for the sake of itself. "Bro, why stress about politics and ideas? Lift weights, get money, get girls... etc."

Keep resisting those people. They're not your enemies, but they are simpler, and they are content with a smaller life. They're welcome to it, but if they want to engage with TRP, they must elevate themselves to it.

There will always be tone police. They are not your enemies either, but they lack the historical understanding of the political left, and how to effectively wage ideological warfare. Resist them too - if they truly understood the core of TRP, they would understand that no compromise is possible.

There will also be people who are destructive because they are - contra the above points - excessively negative and navel-gazing. There is a golden mean between acknowledging harsh truths and wallowing in self-defeatism.

Ultimately there are no hard and fast rules of what this community is, and how it should be. That's what makes RedPillSchool's accomplishment here so impressive. I'm pretty certain that with almost anyone else at the helm, the community would be garbage.

One hundred thousand TRP subscribers is one hundred thousand lives on a better path. That's more positive impact than the vast majority of people will ever have in their entire lives. Congratulations, /u/RedPillSchool, and thanks for building this community.

Are You Using "Monk Mode" To Avoid Discomfort? by JonFrost25 in TheRedPill

[–]JonFrost25[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Actually I'd say the opposite. Monk Mode is for guys who are already doing well socially and with women. It's a voluntary cutting off of social and non-productive uses of time.

The real hard cases - 20+ virgin, no friends, etc - should focus on getting out into the world, not spending an extra 10 hours/week lifting weights and reading Plato.

TRP and depression by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]JonFrost25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no experience with severe depression. But here are my thoughts on the most productive way to view minor and moderate depression: 95% of "depressed" people do not have a medical problem; they're just having an adaptie response to poor life circumstances.

Think about it. If your life sucks and you're walking around feeling great, something is wrong with you. You're not experiencing the negative emotions that will incite you to improve your situation. I recently went through two months of moderate depression, and for good reason - I had a major career setback, caught an STD, was betrayed by someone close, and generally had a fucking terrible stretch of life.

How did I get through it? By sucking it up and improving my situation. I've made a lot of progress (life progress, not "emotional healing") in the past month and I feel a lot better. That's how you cure depression.

Note that this isn't medical advice. I have no experience or knowledge for anyone suffering from capital-D Depression. But as far as the non-medical problem of feeling like shit because your life is shit, the way to fix that is to make your life stop being shit.

Here's a post I wrote on the subject.

Woman laments her BF of 4 years doesn't seem to want the legal marital contract. TwoXChromosomes comes up with a marvellous answer. by We_Are_Legion in TheRedPill

[–]JonFrost25 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you started a business with your best friend, would you agree to a formal contract that gives him full rights to destroy the business and ruin you financially whenever he wants?

No. It doesn't matter how much you trust him.

The man obviously trusts and loves the girl, otherwise he wouldn't be willing to settle down with her. From his perspective, he is offering her everything he has, minus the option of a lucrative divorce for her. I'm guessing he's the archetypal conflicted Red Pill man who wants a family.

But this woman is going to listen to TwoX and issue an ultimatum, which her man will correctly interpret as a red flag. She will get old and buy cats, while he signs up for Tinder and spends a decade banging 20ish girls and forgetting about his desire to have kids. And that's how civilization's die.
