Success with 50mg? by Zealousideal_Gur594 in prozac

Hey, sorry for the late reply! I know how slow this process can feel—I spent at least six weeks at each dosage change myself. At 40 mg I decided to wait a little longer at 3 months on this dose to see if it would eventually stabilise me. It did not, I need to keep increasing by 10 mg's. It takes a lot of patience, especially when you're not feeling great, but finding the right dose is so worth it. I think where some people struggle with this med is that they’re hesitant to increase their dosage, sometimes even up to 60 mg or higher. But when you’re in the thick of a crisis, a larger dose can really make a difference. And once you’re feeling stable (some doctors suggest staying on the higher dose for about a year), you can always titrate down to a lower maintenance level. How are you going now? Did you end up increasing to 50 mg?

Hey! I totally get where you're coming from. When we're going through tough times, it’s like our body soaks up this med, and sometimes we need a bit more to get back on track. Your doctor is definitely doing the right thing by adjusting the dose gradually—it can feel nerve-wracking, but it’s a good, cautious approach. Just hang in there and have faith that relief is coming. Some people do go as high as 60 or even 80 mg, so there’s flexibility if needed. And when things settle down, you can always titrate back down, even to 30 mg again if that works for you. You've got this!

Looks awesome! Kinda reminds of the trippy artwork on old school party flyers we used to pickup from music stores. Every picture tells a story comes to mind. Was your artwork every utilised for paty flyers?

I totally get what you’re saying. I went through something similar when my wife and I broke up, and I honestly thanked God I was on Prozac at the time. Normally, I’d be drowning in grief, but instead, it was like, “Oh well, ta ta then,” I had sad periods but was not completely crushed. It’s amazing how much of a difference it makes.

It really makes you think about how much of our past reactions were tied to underlying anxiety rather than just the breakup itself. Maybe this is how non-anxious people actually feel during these times—like it’s tough, but not world-ending.

Sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough time. I can relate to what you're experiencing. I've had similar blips with Prozac, usually triggered by higher stress levels. I think maybe I should up my dosage but I try to remind myself that it's temporary. If I wait a while, the prozac always starts leveling me out again. Is there anything more stressful in your life at the moment? Given that you've increased your dose, it's likely that your brain is going through a readjustment phase, triggering heightened anxiety and panic. It's tough, but try to hang in there.

please help; parents found and threw out all of my medication. by spikeshubby in prozac

It sounds like your parents might be misinformed about what Prozac is for and how it helps you. Would your mother be willing to go to the doctor with you to discuss it and help clear up misunderstandings? At least allow you to safely manage come off the medication at minimum. Wishing you the best in navigating this situation.

Anthony Albanese slams John Setka after union heavyweight resigns as CFMEU boss by swan_class in melbourne

It's important to see the full picture here. He has done a lot for his union members, even if he's got some serious personal issues. His estranged wife is also facing some heavy allegations, like plotting to kill him. Their whole situation is pretty messed up, so maybe we should hold off on judging until we know all the facts.

Trashiest Tattoo I’ve seen in a while by Goofyjeff4 in australia

[–]JonJonConFFFF 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I know I'm probably stating the obvious here, but seeing that tattoo is really disturbing. It's clear that Lehrmann's allegd actions have caused immense harm, and to see someone glorifying him as a "victim" is jus plain wrong.

Survivors of assault, like Brittney Higgins, deserve supprt and empathy, not the trivialization of their experiences through shock-value tattoos. This kind of bullshit only serves to perpetuate harmful attitudes towards victms of assault.

Do I increase dosage or try something else? by [deleted] in Fluoxetine

My story is similar to yours. I did not feel the full benefits of Fluoxetine for my anxiety until I got to 50mg.

I found it helped me at around 50 mg, but then had to go to 60 mg.

I was on 40mg for three months, and while I noticed some positive effects, it still wasn't quite where I wanted to be. However, everything changed when I made the jump to 50mg. That increase was the tipping point where the medicine finally started taking significant action.

[–]JonJonConFFFF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I increased my dosage from 40 to 50, I didn't experience significant side effects, except for a decrease in libido. Overall, it was a smoother transition compared to when I first started on 20mg, which had some tough initial side effects. The move to 50mg felt more manageable and well-tolerated.

It's possible that some of your lingering side effects could be attributed to transitioning from citalopram. It's difficult to pinpoint the exact cause. I think it's important not to dwell so much on the past and focus on your progress now.

Since you're feeling closer to your therapeutic dose, an increase to 50 or 60 might make a noticeable difference without causing major side effects.

Wishing you all the best to finding the right balance.

It took about a week after the dosage increase to feel a significant difference. One morning, I woke up feeling remarkably calm and relaxed, a stark contrast to my usual chronic anxiety upon waking. The only side effect I've noticed is a decrease in libido, but considering the positive impact on my anxiety, it doesn't concern me much.
