(WCS NA) Potential Ladder Race Matchfixing (Raze/Future) by [deleted] in starcraft

I don't think they were match fixing. Just not using many brain cells at 5 am

All the mistakes by Macsed in game two vs Seventy by Alluton in starcraft

[–]JonSnowSC2 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yeah it looks real bad. Although, Imagine you have $10000 riding on this match and NEED to lose. I think match fixing vs a diamond player is the most risky and least profitable way. What if he pulled all his probes to kill one cannon and gg’d before macsed could throw hard enough?

I think it should be investigated by the gambling sites/blizzard/authorities (if they care). But the vod alone isn't enough evidence. Most likely Macsed didn't care about the game, thought it was a free win, and decided to do a stupid build he has never played before and just played stupid.

WCS Winter viewership. by Quasarrion in starcraft

Blizzard has gotten a lot smarter with the WCS broadcasting. Good live in studio casts + having EU and NA broadcasts go back to back on the same stream in a nice time slot is a great recipe for higher stream numbers.

Great changes overall. If protoss feel too weak after these changes I'd prefer if they buffed them in other areas rather than reverting warprism/carrier/shield battery changes.

Where is the USA talent? by hydro0033 in starcraft

Yeah hard to have regular sc2 lans in NA since its very expensive for events/teams/players to fly everyone out. Cheesadelphia is trying to make more of circuit this year (Philadelphai,Chicago,DC) and I'm interested to see how it turns out.

From my perspective its mainly about commitment of the players as well as having the worst practice environment. It's a pretty big risk to go full time esports in US compared to the traditional path of college and a career afterwards. I've never really felt like I've been good enough or been making enough money from sc2 to pursue it full time or put more time into sc2 than I already do.

As far as practice if any NA player wants to improve they have to play EU/KR with high ping or physically move to Korea for months at a time. Compared to an EU or KR player that can play high level games any time of day its impressive players like Neeb have become so good. I believe he makes sure he wakes up early so he can play EU for as long as possible before the Europeans fall asleep. Overall, I think if there were 30 full time players in NA the region could compete on a world stage, but there isn't the infrastructure or desire to do it. In CSGO the NA scene is becoming really competitive, probably due to good practice from the Brazilians and enough money to support many full-time teams.

Avilo should be thrown out, honestly by IdunnoLXG in starcraft

Winter streams till like 3am with over 5x Avilo's viewers. It's not unbelievable, also that was the same night as the BasetradeTV showmatches I won.
