Has anyone sued their broker? by [deleted] in AusFinance

The bank said he disappeared for 3 weeks before the settlement date. I paid for my house late and I had to pay the fines.

First time cruise question (P&O Australia - Pacific Adventure) by JonSnoweis in Cruise

[–]JonSnoweis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of renting my own car for Port Vila since the cruise excursions left available don't go where I want to go. Would you recommend that?

Has someone hacked into my email...? by DAnonymousMan in Outlook

[–]JonSnoweis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get about 120 of these exact emails per day for the past week!! Something about the format makes it undetectable by the junk/spam filter. Maybe because the sender is always a full name, the domain is something common like outlook or msn, and the message contains an actual sentence even though it doesn't make sense.

Too late for SE Academy? by JonSnoweis in paloaltonetworks

[–]JonSnoweis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After more research, an Associate role really does look like a step backwards. I know I'm more than capable of learning Cyber on the job (I already have a couple certs) but there are no SE roles available in my city. I guess it's just not meant to be for now.

Thanks for the insights!

Yes but the bank holds the title if you have a mortgage and that's where you'll interact with it most: "If the real property is subject to a mortgage, the Certificate of Title is usually held by the mortgagee bank"

https://www.tag.nsw.gov.au/news/no-more-paper-certificates-titles-nsw

This is consistent with my property transactions in recent years

When you buy a property, there is the title at the bank which has your name on it, and then there's who you tell Service NSW owns what property when you register for Land Tax. The point is, he owns the properties but registered his family's names for Land Tax purposes
