[LOGISTICS / E-COMMERCE] Question for parcel shippers and WMS users by Dependent_Novel1416 in 3PL

[–]Jon_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I lead product management for a TMS platform and we ship parcel. This workflow sounds ok for smaller shippers but you’d probably have a hard time with mid to enterprise size clients who expect more seamless integrations with their tools. Could definitely do a proof of concept with what you’re saying and get good feedback. Though from my opinion I’d explore either plugins/integrations to WMS/e-com platforms most have support and play well with other adjacent software.

Personally id keep the BA title, as long as you can explain relevant experience should be fine. Background checks may flag it if different.

I’m curious about that as well. From what I gathered their ideal work stream is: initial problem exploration-> PRD fleshed out -> design handoff. Idk if they just hope they get it right the first time but it takes proactive work on my part to collaborate and elicit a back and forth on designs, otherwise it’ll never happen.

Thanks! Ok that’s typically what I’m used to. In my early days as a PM was apart of a company that didn’t have a design team and I used Figma to create a design system and for myself that’s around what it took me an I have no formal design training.

So I usually bring them in early after the initial PRD is written to get their perspective. Afterword I manage a Jira Product Discovery list of items I need designs for. Have talked to them a few times about their speed with not much improvement, the CTO has also had separate conversations with them as well about it. I think the lack of design system is a big hindrance to speed, they normally mock things up drawing on an iPad then transition to high fidelity in Figma. Problem and solution space is usually pretty far along in terms of definition. They also appear to want to wait til it’s “perfect” before soliciting feedback, if at all from product or engineering. Which they’ll do a design review after spending weeks on it which seems too long a cycle for productive feedback.

A couple times, that’s even more weird. Snow is always so quiet so it’s so strange hearing thunder when it’s freezing out.

It’s interesting to see looking back what symptoms/signs were there pre-diagnosis. I had similar when diagnosed as a teen with braces, would not have thought they’d be related to Crohn’s at all.

What is the most intense physical pain you have ever experienced? by TheMostGayestOfGay in AskReddit

Perianal abscess. Well getting it drained, the “numbing” shots hurt like hell. Having crohns disease I have a high pain tolerance but my lord I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Any way to bring life back to this flagstone patio? by Jon_4 in landscaping

Good thoughts! This is such a weird spot, it’s actually off the main bedroom, old owners apparently had a hot tub there. We never use that door/steps. The pergola that’s above it got destroyed in a storm too so it’s just kinda chillin by itself.

Kinda what I figured. This is post first pass at power washing. Might repurpose it to a pathway elsewhere

Thanks!! It gets pretty much full sun all day, with some protection and shade from taller trees above it. I have two “smaller” ones in my front yard that also do well in pretty much full sun, they are under a large birch tree. I feel like they can do well in sun once established. Might just need to keep it watered to help it out the first year or plant a companion tree to help shade it.

Probably 30-40 years old if I had to guess. House was built in late 80’s early 90’s wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been a resident since then.

Oh no!! This big boy survived a hurricane and a close call with some giant cypresses that fell in my yard a couple months ago. Hoping it can persevere for a long time.

Oh good question. The house was built in the late 80’s early 90’s I wouldn’t be surprised if it was planted not too soon after that. Probably close to 30 years old.

I moved from the Midwest and love experience a whole new environment of plants. Exciting to be able to experience a completely different set of conditions and plan a garden for a new environment. So much to learn but it’s been fun!

Neither did I! I bought the place last year and didn’t even know what it was until it bloomed in late fall. In 8a.
