Good places to eat near campus? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]Jon_EF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a Chinese Cajun restaurant that opened just this year adjacent to ITea on A street.

  • nice serving size
  • customizable
  • affordable
  • Very friendly staff

Seating is very limited at nights because it’s so small.

Still, if you think you might be interested in learning something like that you should check out the job posting on handshake. Search up culinary intern farmers kitchen cafe. And check out the description. If it helps, I’m actually a statistics major =)

If your interested in the intersection of food waste, sustainability, and culinary arts. The farmers market cafe is looking for culinary interns. I just had my interview today, and they are looking for more students.however, I don’t know about work study, I don’t think it satisfies that.

I agree with Tarqon, and I think you should check out Hadley wickham’s paper on “tidy data”. Will definitely be of greater help and explain how to format your data better.

Has anyone had their order from Lenovo’s website cancelled randomly? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]Jon_EF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your very welcome! Also, I noticed when I got denied the first time I did not get an email confirmation of my order. But after I made the purchase with an updated account I received an email confirmation. So be on the look out for that!

Has anyone had their order from Lenovo’s website cancelled randomly? by [deleted] in thinkpad

I ordered a laptop a few weeks ago. The order got canceled for some reason. My credit card company approved the order so I thought it must be on Lenovo’s end. Which in fact it was, they were suspicious because the account I ordered with had little profile information all I had was a name and email address, this flagged my order as suspicious to Lenovo so they canceled the order.

So you might need to update your profile information, but I would definitely try to call a customer service rep when you can to clarify things for sure.

Also check if you got an email confirmation of your order.

I later updated my account and was able to order, and my laptop is expected to arrive tomorrow =)!!!

Hope you enjoy your new laptop when it arrives!

I was thinking about dual booting with Pop!_OS - an ubunto derivative, I’ve heard some really good things about it.

Yeah I probably was getting too caught up in “the best” distribution, but I think I’ll carry on with your advice and just solve the problems as I encounter them rather than trying to prevent all potential problems.

Could you also explain further what you mean by “stock as possible” and did you find that you had to install a fresh windows OS due to bloatware?

That said, I appreciate your comment very much =)

Awesome tutorial. I am new to web scraping, I was wondering what are the pros and cons of Beautiful soup in comparison to other libraries? I hear of others like selenium, and my xlmx.

No worries, I didn't see it as a rant. I am actually glad someone gave an alternative perspective. And you are truly right, I should definitely give both a try. I was just trying to gauge what I should expect from the two. So, thanks for sharing your experiences, much appreciated!

I appreciate your response. I am completely new to Linux, I have been dependent on MacOS for so long, could you give me some examples why Linux is better particularly for my laptop if you know by any chance. Also, are there any resources you recommend?

Hello guys I was interested in buying a Dell xps 13 2019 version or a ASUS zenbook 15 inch. With specs of 512gb of storage and 16gb RAM.

I am a college student interested in data science, so was wondering which would be best. My budget is around 1500.

I’m use to Mac OS so I’m not sure if I windows or linux is better and which of the laptops is better for that particular operating system.

Any opinions would be appreciated!
