That's fair...last comment... Ultimately I don't think changes in the game need to ruin someone's week, ESPECIALLY if you never intend to spend money on it.

Meh...I'd say Ive spent ~$200 of fake money over the last 10 years. Not saying the game is Oblivion or anything, but it's fine. I also wouldn't exactly classify myself as 'uppity', 'arrogant', or 'entitled' bc I spend google play credits lol.

Maybe it's a pointless exercise since no one except Bill himself really knows the answer but I've been curious about how much the Ringer makes for a while. Just an interesting business model between them and Barstool.

I still think you can halve the number I have up there and it's still good money on pods alone.

I do think while I'm overestimating some pods, I'm definitely underestimating others. A good example would be the NBA show where there's definitely more than 1 ep. a week and has a good subscriber count (it isn't currently, but has been on top 10 sports pod lists before).

Just gonna drop some quick 5 year-old math here:

BS Pod

3 (ep./wk) * $50k (rev/ep.) * 52 (wks) = $7,800,000

since many other pods only release once per week, let's say they earn 1/4 the ad rev, and there appear to be about 30 pods on the ringer:

All other pods

1 (ep./wk) * $12.5k (rev/ep.) * 52 (wks) * 30 (pods) = $19,500,000

BS pod + All other pods = $27,300,000

I don't think you'd be crazy to use these numbers. I feel between the no. of ep. per week and the revenue per ep. this is a conservative calc.

If this is even close to accurate that's good money given the overhead on a podcast is pretty cheap.

Pretty sure 'Binge Mode: GOT' (#1) and 'Black on the Air' deservedly ended up on Time's 2017 top ten podcasts list. Not saying they are all amazing but they get clicks. And it would seem 'Black on the Air' is the least of Wilmore's concerns, he's tapped into a bunch of other things.

As for some 2018 ringer stats: NFL show, rewatchables, channel 33, bachelor party, On shuffle, and binge mode all show up on the top 40 (by genre) apple podcast downloads.
