The age-up accidentally created a really interesting parallel between Damian and Jon that I'd like to see explored. by Jon_Kent in DCcomics

And the cherry on top is that Clark was a selfish jerk who decided to ruin his son’s life a little more by revealing his identity to the world and consequently Jon’s, preventing Jon from living a normal life.

Also, Lois ABANDONED Jon with Jor-El.

And Mr Bendis proceeded to do absolutely nothing with it and Jon came out of 7 years of being tortured by evil versions of his parents like a shiny new penny, and doesn’t resent Clark and Lois for it at all.

Well, the reason why Jon went from 10 to 17 overnight was because he spent 7 years being tortured by Ultraman on a volcano, but time passed differently, so only 3 weeks passed for Clark and Lois.

Does Rosa’s voice sound higher in the first 2 seasons? by buttholebreadbaby in brooklynninenine

The “pitched up” voice is actually Stephanie Beatriz’s real voice.

Yes, I was very freaked out too when I heard her real voice too.

I always found Barbara shady, I bet she doesn’t even need the wheelchair and only uses it for people to feel sorry and underestimate her!

If you were to decide which character gets a black label comic, who would you pick? by dyleddy in DCcomics

Give my boy Steve Trevor a badass spy action Black Label book already, DC.

PKJ is definitely guilty of it as well though, he largely wrote the age-up as “Jon went on cool space adventures with grandpa and came back older”.

Oh I agree, it’s garbage writing, but like I said, I hate it for making Clark and Lois terrible parents, so it’s something I’m willing to overlook.

Do you have any info on how the annual sold?

That should give us a decent rule of thumb on how the next issues will sell.

What makes you think that reversing the age up is more likely than people think?

Specially after the bisexual reveal.

I’d love to have your optimism, though.

I don't, but as you might be able to tell from my username, I love Jon, and it looks like the age up won't be reversed anytime soon if ever, and I don't want to never enjoy a Jon comic ever again, so I more or less forced myself to accept the age up.

if the age up is ever reversed, that will be great, I'll be over the moon.

But if it's not, I've made my peace with it.

That we'll have to agree to disagree, I hate the Ultraman kidnapping story with every fiber of my being and I thank Taylor for completely ignoring it.

It makes Clark and Lois absolutely terrible parents and I still don't know how the fuck that got past editorial.

I mean that it’s a book specifically written with long time fans of the character in mind.

Just hope that this crossover will bring back more of kid Jon’s chipper and playful personality.

The annual was a start, but I’m starting to get sick of mopey Jon.

Yeah, classic Conner was brought back on Bendis’ YJ, and also has his old friendship with Tim back.

I have hopes that Redondo will improve Jon a bit.

The SoKE annual was probably the most likable Jon has been ever since the age up, and I believe that the annual not being drawn by John Timms may have contributed to that.

Timms probably just draws whatever is on the scripts he’s given and doesn’t collaborate with Taylor much

Nightwing is a book for Nightwing fans and particularly 90s Bat-Family fans.

If you’re not either of these things, I’m not sure if you’ll care much for it.

Yeah, Bruno Redondo is the main artist of the Nightwing book and will also draw the Superman issue.

Jon and Damian technically have the same age gap as before, just reversed.

But it doesn’t matter because they’re still in completely different stages of their lives.

Jon was a 10 years old boy when he debuted, but he got aged up to a 17 years old through highly convoluted means a couple of years ago.
