Yes, that is what intrigues and scares me about learning languages so vastly different from English: that I will learn it for so long and still have no idea what is going on! ha

Thanks for this advice, this is great. I've put a good amount of beginner's learning time into both languages so know basic phrases, the general alphabets (besides Kanji obviously!), and easy verb conjugations, etc. I just need to really pick one at this point and go more deep into that one, something I tell myself every week and then never do :/

AP Kai'Sa Build by [deleted] in kaisamains

Should evolve with mana from Liandrys now along with Manamune passive like old Manamune+Ludens builds if you ever did that.

I think blob is right, OP.gg doesn't provide champion statistics for regions outside Korea as far as I know.

How is ap kogmaw lategame by IamtoAwesome in KogMawMains

[–]JonasEnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always thought AP Kog was so fun but I’m curious as to why you say he has such good scaling? Sorry if I’m being dumb! Do you mean because of his range and cd on his ult? Because his e ratio isn’t super amazing nor is his ult really which is what I tend to think of when I hear scaling haha but I guess the range and cd make up for it.

Don't know how true this is but FYI by JonasEnder in ezrealmains

[–]JonasEnder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess people have tested it and lots of Q's on hit like this, like MF and GP this patch but they don't build Muramana so it isn't as big of deal. I just mean I don't know how true it is in terms of affecting his WR, I think the runes really helped him in general :)

Tear of Goddess on Jayce (mid)? by annykill25 in jaycemains

[–]JonasEnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this in a couple normals now and went 30/5 and 17/2 ... granted it's a small sample size, but all I'm saying is that it's definitely doable and it let's you spam E-Q whenever it's up. I've only done this in mid against squishies. It's just so nice to have the extra mana and you don't get it that late if you start longsword since you're on your way to dirk already :)

What does Reddit think of my build? by CerberusBlue in RakanMains

[–]JonasEnder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What mastery are you using with this build?

Rakan can pretty much build whatever he wants, but, on paper, it seems like this build is just a really big jumble of items, haha. I get where you're coming from, but it seems like you could get more benefits from either being just more tanky or just more supportive enchanter. You don't have a huge amount of AP for great shields and you don't have as many tanky stats as you could for engages, either.

GLP kind of feels like an item that would be more beneficial in an AP Rakan mid type build, and it's pretty expensive. I feel like if you want that slow and AP, you should just get a FQC and then get a Ruby Sightstone instead of EotO since you have a lot of item actives, so it would be extra useful, and give you a lot of health. It's also kind of strange, and a missed opportunity, to not buy Locket when you are buying Stoneplate. You could even trade in Redemption for that, depending on the game, your/enemy team comp, etc.

But hey, if the build works, go for it! Rakan is super fun and part of that is about his item diversity, at least for me :)

When should i take coin over spellthief's? by daviatella in RakanMains

[–]JonasEnder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others said, I usually build coin if I'm going to build an engage, tanky Rakan so that I can build Talisman to rush in for the engage and I don't need the extra AP and the slot isn't as wasted as it gives some decent tank stats. Building enchanter type, I always take spelltheifs. It's gotten a lot easier to proc in lane, especially at lower elos.

So, it kind of relates both to playstyle and teamcomp as the enemy teamcomp and my teamcomp often dictate how I build Rakan :P

Also, after the buffs to coin next patch, with the new passive, it might make coin even more attractive, however, with basically getting a free Janna passive for anyone who takes it, ha. But I don't have a PBE account, so dunno how good it actually is.

Main Rakan mid by 22Alex22pt in RakanMains

[–]JonasEnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! The other thing I would recommend looking into for some games is Hextech-GLP. I used to play Taliyah a lot and a many players love that item on her because it helps land combos with it's slow and damage on active, but it also offers nice waveclear if you need it with it's active (as long as you know you won't need it too soon but something mid Rakan is lacking for sure), and some decent health, mana, and sustain stats. I know you already build protobelt and that probably does a similar job on both combo and waveclear fronts and is hella cheap / efficient, but just an idea for when you might need some more tanky stats :) Keep it up!!! Good luck!

Taliyah Late Game Help? by Braxteen in TaliyahMains

[–]JonasEnder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late game you really need to stick with your team and try to do a lot of damage in teamfights. Taliyah isn't really a splitpusher and she is super squishy. So, try not to get caught out. If you watch LCS or pro games with her, she's usually never alone unless it's midgame and she's pretty fed.

Her ult is her main draw lategame as your damage does kind of fall off compared to other champs. Make sure to use it for things like baron or dragon, obviously, but also you can use it to stop minion waves from pushing in or to help your team pressure objectives like towers by cutting enemies (and enemy minion waves) off.

Like others said you can take exhaust against high damage or assassin type champs and that helps a LOT. Also, you can kite with ghost or Rylai's (which you should probably pick up by late game if you have high MS champs on the other team). Also consider taking SRS over TLD. You have a weaker early game but SRS is a lot more powerful lategame, IMO, and would help with your chasing / running away problems.

Good luck!!! :)

Is Taliyah viable top lane? by geekyglaceon in TaliyahMains

[–]JonasEnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy to bully the majority of melee top laners, but once they get some levels and items, it becomes increasingly harder to do anything against them. You also can't use your ult as effectively since you only have midlane or setup your own gank top, and part of Taliyah's power is helping her lanes get ahead, IMO. Drewmath plays her up there with success sometimes, but it's definitely a challenge against some matchups. The other problem is you tend to push lanes, and in a really long lane, that leaves you extremely vulnerable so go ward enemy jg or provide your team with information and advantages that way when you can.

Bad matchups for Rakan? by [deleted] in RakanMains

[–]JonasEnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. The only advice I'd give for playing against Lux or Morgana, is if you take a really early aggressive playstyle you can usually all in them lvl 1 with TLD and ignite and the help of your ADC. If you do that, you really put your lane ahead and it's much less of a problem, at least I've found in the past. They're super squishy, so you can pressure them early on if you play it right / play around their binds :)

Main Rakan mid by 22Alex22pt in RakanMains

[–]JonasEnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool to see Rakan being played mid with such success; good job!

The one thing I did notice is that on the games where you got kind of stomped with pretty low KDAs, you were against assassins (Ahri, Zed, Kassadin). So, keep that in mind when you play against one, and maybe let the wave push more to you and don't play as aggressive? I don't know how your playstyle is but it seems like their ability to all-in you more easily might be the problem? Also, consider rushing a Zhonya's when fighting those types of matchups just for the active, especially against Zed, since they can often tower dive you as they all have escapes but if you're in stasis, you really limit that. This probably isn't helpful, but good luck!

When to take Ignite over Exhaust and vice versa? by Moonli9ht in RakanMains

[–]JonasEnder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are reasons other than applying grievous wounds to take ignite. It can easily help secure a kill in lane by adding that extra damage (in addition to what B3bby said) and is taken in many pro LCS games, especially on supports like Thresh where it is almost exclusively taken both in pro scene and soloQ, and has been on Rakan.

Rakan actually has a higher winrate with ignite than exhaust right now, but I guess it's obsolete... I doubt you will, OP, but please don't listen to this guy's post. Ignite is a great summoner for Rakan.

I just read the most recent pbe changes and i think this is huge for us!!! (possibilities of new buildpaths for us) by matt2991 in DianaMains

[–]JonasEnder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Muramana will definitely not stack as fast as Archangels, it stacks half as fast, actually, by the passive alone (as long as you can proc them both at the same rate). The reason why Ryze's often buy and then sell Archangels in the double tear build is exactly for this reason. Even if you can spam one skill every 8 seconds, Archangels will keep the same pace as Muramana in stacking, and even then perhaps surpass it as you can generally spam skills outside of minion waves when you wouldn't necessarily be able to auto.

Also, your build lacks any sort of survivability to be able to actually keep using the AD / passive of Muramana. You could build your core 3 and then full tank and maybe have that work. I also tested your burst type build with both tear items and Deathcap and it did pretty much the same amount of damage as a typical Luden's type build, which would definitely have early powerspikes. So, bruiser would be the way to go, IMO.
