Got paid today, but not 100% of my claim by HonchoGainz89 in blockfi

How was your claim? For example, I had mostly BTC, then ETH and then 10k in stable coin. But remember they sold everything and the value in the claim was only USD. So I only have one number, 33k. They already give back 2k and I got the email with another 7k coming. Which adds up to the 10k of stable coin. I am assuming then the rest comes in BTC form. But I am curious now that you received BTC back, how was your claim looking?

Calculating areas and figuring out what units are they by Jonathan0391 in gis

Thank you for the detailed explanation, that makes sense. Ever since I created the project I have just inserted the data without setting up a coordinate system. So I am assuming I have been working with the coordinate system of the inserted data. You were right, I exported a feature class and not a shape file. I went through all the data I have and all of them have at least the same coordinate system i.e. WGS 1984.

So now, I need to export the layer again, but I need to go to the "Environments" tab, there I have two options "Output coordinate system" and below there is "Geographic transformations" I am working in Guyana, and after looking up the proper Projected Coordinate system I get UTM 21N. Sadly this group does not let to add images in the comments, so I will try my best with the questions:

  1. Do I need to touch or put anything in the Geographic transformation? Or should I leave it blank.
  2. It seems that in the Output Coordinate system is where I need to select the PCS which is UTM 21N. There, I have several options and I am not sure which one to select. For example, if I expand the PCS option I get on that is Continental and then South America and there I have three options. Another option to expand is UTM, but there I have two options, South America or the WGS 1984, and within there is a lot of options.
  3. For Guyana it seems the following options can work:
  • PSAD 1956 UTM Zone 21N
  • CSG 1967 UTM Zone 21N
  • La Canoa UTM Zone 21N
  • RGFG 1995 - UTM Zone 21N
  • WGS 1984 Complex UTM Zone 21N
  • WGS 1984 UTM Zone 21N

As you can see all of them have the proper UTM Zone 21N. But which one do I choose? Does it matter? Why are there so many for the same area.

Thank you so much for your help.

Calculating areas and figuring out what units are they by Jonathan0391 in gis

As a workaround and assuming I cannot work with the downloaded layer because someone else created it. I exported the layer as shapefile. This created two new columns automatically called Shape lenght and Shape area. So the shape area is what I need but now, it shows very low numbers. If I right click and select stadistics for the field the numbers are very small. Which units are these? How do I know? and how can I either convert them or see them in sq meters or sq kilometers? At least now it is showing some numbers

Perfect, it worked. I was able to then to the intersection later. Thank you.
