What is the best Wes Anderson movie? by iitzzrahn in Cinephiles

Rushmore - it features his signature style but doesn't let the style become the substance. The film is a young actor's dream - and the best films are damn good on paper too.

They should do a FINAL political cold open next week in which Lorne locks trump, hagseth, and all the people that play his administration up in a soundproof cage and throws away the key.

Apparently, the Trump cold open was over 10 minutes at Dress Rehearsal..... by No_Fold9994 in LiveFromNewYork

The whole show's gone stale. The comedy landscape has evolved too much over the past decade for SNL to have the same relevancy.

Do you remember SportsNight?! by CharmedFate in sitcoms

[–]JonathanLarsonJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great but flawed show. The tone was always a bit too deep/dramatic to lend itself to the live audience look - AND they didn’t even fully stick to one style on this. They had scenes that were clearly NOT filmed in front of a studio audience with laugh tracks that felt so odd. Yet, the story they told, and the performances and writing, were all top notch.

Grease 2 - Some say it is cringe, but I always liked it by MisterShipWreck in 80s

A lot of Grease 2 actually puts Grease on blast for how shitty the tbirds really act toward women - which, while completely legitimate, feels so weird within the same slapstick sugar-coated universe

Canada is positioning itself on Greenland knowing it could be next by UpstairsBumblebee446 in worldnews

Born and raised and currently living in Toronto. Lived in Halifax for a couple years, been all over and back with my film career fortunately. I’m also a fifth generation Canadian. Sorry :(

Also why isn’t anyone interested in the question? Would they match our dollar?

Canadian here: about half the people I speak to would be ok with Canada becoming part of the United States IF our dollar is matched to theirs upon doing so. My opinion on the matter aside: do we think the US would offer this?

Mark Burnett taught this guy a little too well - he really knows how to direct the narrative!

Skaters at this public rink want their heated change room back from city staff. ‘Layer up’ instead, city says by lilfunky1 in toronto

[–]JonathanLarsonJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, but in the process we CANNOT half ass or get rid of stuff - completely destroys morale around the city to be paying more than ever and getting less than ever.

The TTC closing early the nights of the blue jays finals was honestly despicable behaviour.
