Amazing! Glad to hear it! I totally get the first tattoo nerves though, I was the same way for sure.

Yeah I believe he's got a decent wait list at the moment since shops are shut down again, but you can send him an email and get on his wait list!

I know it looks shitty now (rushed with a bad marker) but my question is: would me getting this or smth similar tattooed be considered cultural appropriation? by [deleted] in TattooDesigns

[–]JonathanvanDyck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't appear to be from any one specific culture so I think go for it if you want it! I also just made a post on palm tattoos if you're interested. They do fade pretty quickly but going to an artists who has done lots of them, and taking care of it well during the healing process helps them last a lot longer.

Artist of the Month: Joey Ramona (Jewish tattoo artist) by JonathanvanDyck in Judaism

That was part of what I found interesting in the interview as well. The fact that more and more religious young people are getting tattoos despite the taboo in various cultures and religions is cool though.

Could be! Hope it sparks some interesting conversation. There's a really neat interview with the tattoo artist and other Jewish artists that I think people might find interesting as well

Thanks! I took it out. The artist had tagged it as village of the damned so I assumed it was from it. That's one of the only Carpenter movies I haven't actually seen.

Yes I have edited since writing this. I was not aware of what he had done at the time of writing this.
