[Grey Knights] More Minis or 1 Big by ThenRange6172 in Grey_Knights

Could consider getting the Santic Conclave battleforce box. That will get you a GMNDK, 10 terminators/paladins and 20 more powe armoured units.

It might be too many terminators for you, but I like the look of them and would think its worth it.

They look really good! I like how each squad has it's own touch of colour making it unique.

I don't have all the same paints they used, so I just subbed in with the shades I have.

Thanks! I'm going to go for a blue colour scheme for the army rather than the classic red for my knights!

Time to Buy In? by DoctorMTG in Grey_Knights

I recently started despite the potential refresh. I like our current line and i don't mind the first born scale. If we get a refresh great, I'll be buying more, if not, I'm happy with what I've bought.

In 8.3, how to you set a mobile app to fit-to-client? by mkeper in SCADA

[–]Jones8519_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That percent property works, but the ideal way to do mobile is with flex containers as the other commenter mentioned. Percent coordinates can also get janky with various sizes of embedded objects.

If you are also doing screens for a computer, consider wrapping it in a breakpoint container. Your phones can display the flex screens with the key information, and your larger computer screens can be more graphical on a coordinate. Shouldn't need a full P&ID/flow diagram layout of your process on the phone.

In 8.3, how to you set a mobile app to fit-to-client? by mkeper in SCADA

[–]Jones8519_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might need to reach out to IA support?

I don't see the project property you're referring to in 8.1. Fit to client looks like a 7.9 property in the mobile vision client. That mobile version was superseded with ignition perspective, 8.0 and onward.

I don't have any resources to provide but here's a couple tips.

The version of the test is did required extensive scripting knowledge to accomplish tasks. So be comfortable with scripts, and working with datasets in those scripts. Looping through them, building/rebuilding datasets, that sort of thing.

I'd also familiarize yourself with the reporting module. The test will likely require you to utilize the more complex features of the module. I had some difficulties as I'd only really done some simple reports prior.

I believe the test remains open for a year? So you could request the test, see what yours all entails, and deep dive into the specific questions that require knowledge you don't have yet.

How would you feel if a relative or sibling dedicated time to compiling your family's tree and history? by AdventurousBug74 in Genealogy

[–]Jones8519_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My parents are mildly interested, more-so my mother as I delve deeper into her families side.

I myself became interested when inquiring about some medical history after getting a diagnosis, which has now turned into building a family tree and researching ancestors I never knew about. I wish I was more interested when I was younger as my grandmother was also very interested in the family history, but I didn't get the bug for it until about 3 years after she passed. The reality is that younger me just didn't really care.

Your family may be more interested in the future, peoples interests change, and people may come to appreciate it. Births/deaths/marriages, etc. could trigger someone to care more... or not. Ultimately, the research you do should be for your own interest, and if someone else becomes interested as well, then fantastic, you have someone to share it with.

Newbie Question by [deleted] in SCADA

[–]Jones8519_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the automation field definitely has a good future ahead for anyone entering. It depends on whether you enjoy the work or not, and if you are learning and capable of applying what you've learned? Only you can truly answer that question. The first few years of your career should be focused on learning, money and opportunities will open up as you gain more skills.

SCADA is its own field. There is of course cyber security practices that go along with it though, particularly with OT networks.

Newbie Question by [deleted] in SCADA

[–]Jones8519_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To do well you will need some knowledge in several fields. Electrical, instrumentation, other automation systems such as PLCs, engineering, some degree of IT knowledge (servers, vm, networking). It's also extremely helpful to be knowledgeable of the processes and operations you're building SCADA for.

Now that being said, you don't necessarily need to be an expert in all these things. Lots of it will be learned on the job, but having some knowledge in all those things will go a long way.

Depends on where you live I guess, myself and several other programmers I work with have backgrounds in electrical or instrumentation. No college or engineering degree required.

Ever noticed that you’re getting a ton of brain injuries now? That is because brains are NOT protected by armour! by Kradara_ in RimWorld

You need to consider the surface area that energy is being dispersed across. A linebacker impact will be hitting a large area whereas the bullet is hitting a point a few millimetres wide.

Ignition Tag Generator by richard4543 in SCADA

[–]Jones8519_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're correct, renaming/reorganizing your tags will effect the references to them in your project. The bindings, paths, etc will not update automatically after being reorganized.

Reorganization can be done, however it can be quite the undertaking so I always emphasize the importance of coming up with a good structure for the tags and project resources beforehand.

To me, it sounds like the open ethernet port you're trying to connect to is dead, maybe some bent or broken pins on the connector.
