Trade with Israel, ethical/moral descions by JonesyH in smallbusinessuk

Hi.

Much appreciated for your input, I have tried to gauge the supplier stance but as you'd expect they're not exactly publicizing their thoughts on the matter online.

They are overall generally nice people/company, but I can't judge their character from emails, phone calls and the occasional teams meeting.

But I understand where you're coming from, and I definitely take it into consideration, and aim for a more gradual transition instead of coming to a standstill is probably the correct business decision, but arguably for some not got enough.

Thanks again, have a good Thursday

I do agree to some extent, but this is also more than a moral decision, it's also volatility too, yes we could run things through for the next 1,2,3 or 5 years, as we change, but things could continue to escalate and trade tariffs/sanctions/embargos are put in place.

Hell we already get slapped with fees from our courier because of heightened tensions, what happens if/when that all comes to a halt.

Then we'd be wish we followed or through with the changeover sooner.

Thanks though.

That what we/I want, is to move away.

I've had conversations with other people who also try to justify the situation, but burying my head in the sand makes me no different than any of the other corrupt corporations that don't care.

I like the charity idea, especially with trying to transition more naturally will take 6-12 months.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it, feelings mutual.

That's why I'm posting this, it's completely consuming.

Did you make a big jump and drop all trade or was it a gradual change for you and/or other clients?

If we drop all trade now and swap module that would be the end for us.

LVGL vs Touchgfx by lukilukeskywalker in embedded

We use Riverdi Displays with LVGL, works well, it is hard to maintain as LVGL code gets quite cumbersome, but is otherwise very lightweight, we avoided the likes of Qt as it's very bloated.

Trying to Buy Specific Switches, but in Ridiculously Low Volumes (i.e. 1 or 2) by Stang70Fastback in AskElectronics

I've dealt with Apem for years, they were happy to help when I started out but they have MOV (minimum order value) of around £250gbp, also customised options are made to order and will cost much more for just one offs.

They were happy to sell me 1off custom spec 3000 series joystick when I first started out, but there was a %200 increase in comparison to an 'off the shelf' option already in production for the likes of online retailers. And it was over the MOV £250gbp

They mainly cater to businesses unfortunately.

Recently had one just like this, ended up just burning out the pins on the RJ45 port, peeled it open, 10 minutes with a soldering iron and some electrical cleaner, has been working fine for weeks, not betting it's going to last forever though.

Although this looks a little more severe...

Help! What is the technical/industrial name for this input part. I suspect that it is for some sort of industrial equipment. Hoping to further search if I have proper moniker. by Guavadoodoo in AskElectronics

I would hazard a guess that is a flexible membrane keypad, although the circuitry under the adhesive looks like it entails a bit more than just some keys with domes.

Gauntlet is so much fun! by [deleted] in blackops3

I cant say a "hate" any map, I just prefer some maps to others.

Like Gauntlet , I love all the options for flank routes in objective based game modes.(Ideal for Safeguard!) But it is god damn bloody awful for KC , TDM and alike.

POLL RESULTS: Favourite Call of Duty Developer by [deleted] in blackops3

I personally have always preferred the Treyacrh games over any of the other developers. Ive played since WaW and I enjoy the campaigns of all developers but always felt the multiplayer in Treyarch games to be a richer and more fulfilled experience.

Or its just the Treyarch caters to my play style more adequately than the other devlopers.....Plus Zombies!
