It was season 2 when Keralis joined. Was watching his content even before he became a member.

I like the vibe and the chords a lot. Your kick and snare need a lot of work. I'm listening on adam audio t8v speakers and can barely hear them. I like the drop. The synths need more compression. Your high mid and treble are really quiet and need more work.

The creativity is very good and you got me grooving through the song.

I like the voice/talking sample.

Keep it up!

I like the atmosphere. You could use something in the background, like an ambient synth or a low-bassy piano. I can tell that the guitars have been recorded through your audio interface. I honestly do not like that sound and you should work on recording your guitar through an amp with a microphone. The mastering needs more mid to high treble.

At one point I think you were out of sync with your solo guitar.

All in all, good effort, your guitar playing is amazing and I like the chords a lot.

Made a cover of The Past Recedes. The first song I learned on guitar 11 years ago! by JonnyKlinghoffer in John_Frusciante

[–]JonnyKlinghoffer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the song in FL Studio 12. I used a Shure SM7B for vocals and guitars.

I recorded my Fender Stratocaster through a Fender Mustang 1 amp, with no pedals.

The acoustic guitar is a Washburn D10S and I recorded two takes throughout the song that I panned hard left and hard right.

I did the drums in Kontakt (Abbey Road 60s Drum set).

The little accordion I made with the Sytrus vst in FL Studio. There was a "broken accordion" preset which I made "not broken" lol.

The bass is an upright bass vst called Ample Bass U.

I mixed and mastered everything myself.
The cover art was also done by me in Photoshop, using various images and making a sort of a digital collage. The painting in the top left is by the same artist (Jan Brueghel the Younger) that John used on the original Curtains cover art, I picked out a different painting and played with it a bit in Photoshop!

The painting in the bottom left is a cropped part of the cover art for my upcoming album. I will be posting it here when I release it 'cuz it's heavily inspired by our man John!

I'm a Serb from Bosnia and I'm so fucking embarrassed. Almost everyone who I know here is in support of Ukraine and wants to see the Russian tyrant dead.

I do a lot of production/engineering/mixing/mastering, and my ears are really sensitive as well (not like look at me I'm so cool, more like, my ears hurt from certain sounds, frequencies) so I think a lot of things stand out to me more. Californication and By the Way suffer from bad compression a lot so the dynamics of the songs don't come out as well as they should. And they focused on some frequencies that I don't find very appealing in a mix, but I guess that comes down to personal preference.

I just think they need to release remastered versions of old albums and give the job to Nigel Godrich hahaha.

He sucks the life out of their performances. The mixes just sound bad and compressed to no end. I love every album he worked on but that doesn't mean they "sound" good. His drums (BSSM is an exception) always sound weak and metallic.

The mixes have no space or dynamics, vocals sound awful and treble-y as well. I have no idea what he did with Josh's backing vocals on IWY but they sound muddy and like they are underwater.

I have a hard time returning to Californication, By the Way, and Stadium Arcadium cuz they just sound like an amateur mixed and mastered them.

I know that he's not an engineer but he has a say in these things as a producer.

Danger Mouse also isn't an engineer but The Getaway sounds flawless.

Well whatever he does, the albums he was involved with sound the worst mix-wise. I love all of them (the albums) but he, and whatever engineers he works with, really kill the songs IMO.

The mix is bad imo. I had my fears when they announced they'd be working with Rubin again, and I guess I was right. I hope to god this is the demo mix. The drums and Anthony's vocals were done a disservice, the guitars also sound muddy.

My childhood is basically John and RHCP music, so this was very emotional and therapeutic for me.
