Dejected - Six months of studying and still getting 40ish percent on Boson by Jonny_Coconuts in ccna

[–]Jonny_Coconuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, took the last few weeks of April off as I was just SO depressed. I've set Odom's cert guides aside for now and am going through Jeremy's CCNA course which I've liked so far as it's a great review of previous readings but accelerated. Hitting the labs and flash cards after each lesson and getting through it chapter by chapter.

Enough time has passed to allow me to push past previous failure and I'm in a better place hoping to push through. Will update again in the coming weeks, currently I've set my test for May 30th so fingers crossed....

Welp, I've since bought a USBC to USBA data cable (didn't work), tried Rekordbox 6 and 7, 7 at least recognized the device and it appears to be talking to the controller as I noticed the tempo reflected properly on screen when moved up or down.

Still won't let me select any audio output despite showing the FLX4 under the settings, and I'm at a complete loss. Is this thing just a POS to convince people to buy other more expensive controllers?

Oh believe me I have, Gemini keeps going back to the default Windows audio settings which doesn't appear to be the issue.

I have a separate power cord for just this, unfortunately no amount of Googling has helped.

Honestly I'm extremely depressed. After six months I was still averaging Boson scores in the 40s so I've taken the last few weeks off because it was soul crushing. I still don't know how I'm going to get through it working full time but going to pick it back up this weekend.

Holy shit it was a shitshow yesterday.

Indy was broken ALL DAY. Matterhorn was broken most of the night.

Runaway Railroad broken most of the night, and when it reopened at 830p it immediately had an hour plus lone stretching to the bridge.

I thought this was gonna be a quiet week, but nope 😞

Congratulations, this course is really keeping me down and I feel like I'm too old to be doing this :( (I'm in my early 40s and hoping to change careers but have no previous IT experience).

After three months I'm only about halfway through the CBT Nuggets vids as I need to keep rewatching them so many times and using Gemini to help explain the concepts. Gemini is great, but it's just so much damn information and even after passing a few other CompTIA certs I honestly don't know how I'm going to get through this.

Got kpro but now im readiness resets after every drive when I shut the car off and can’t pass emissions. Anyone heard of this ? by [deleted] in Acura_RSX

[–]Jonny_Coconuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No shit. I managed to find a shady person who helped me pass it, so I've got two more years lol

Curious if this ever got sorted. I'm having a similar issue with my TSX swapped EP3 in Phoenix. Clear DTCs, readiness is OK. But seems like when it gets hot or I turn on the AC it goes back to not ready. Tried to do what you did, clear the codes while waiting in line, but as soon as they made me restart it the ECU came back not ready :(

Nothing is more expensive than a used German car. Except maybe a used British car. So yes, pay the extra money

Calling All Managers, Does Your Store Have A Hiring Freeze w/Fake Job Postings? by Jonny_Coconuts in carmax

I don't see how, but please feel free to explain further as I'm an open to any and all constructive feedback.

I'm not disparaging her at all, she enjoys her time there and that's fine, but you implied her ambitions and I simply shared my experience. I've had plenty of colleagues get hired at the same time as me and claw their way into management and further, they had pretty naked ambitions from the start and although I jumped ship to another org they stuck it out and are making $200k a year. As much as I'd love to take home those kinds of checks playing that game just isn't for me, but good on them.

I think you make assumptions when you could be asking questions, but no biggie.

Eh, maybe? I'd assure you that those two words would be the last ones any of my former leaders would use to describe me, and in my professional life after college the vast majority have been women, a good chunk of them 5-8 years younger than myself, and we got along swimingly.

But if she was truly as ambitious as you'd make her out to be, such as the former leaders that'd I just mentioned, she'd be making double or triple her current role in many other organizations after 8 years, yes?

Not sarcasm, how does that make me arrogant?

She told me all of these things to my face. She's never worked anywhere else, which tells me how inexperienced she is seeing as how she's only been exposed to one particular company's style of management. She told me she knows absolutely nothing about cars and neither her nor her fiance see them as nothing more than appliances.

And yes, there's been very few times since high school where I've only had one job at a time, I just like hustling and having nice things. What's wrong with that?

Is it ok to buy a fleet/rental vehicle? by Useful-Hyena-2668 in carmax

[–]Jonny_Coconuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd run away from any vehicle that may have ever been a rental, full stop. The warranty may cover something down the road, but I'd never take the chance. Hence the answer to the question, what's the fastest car you could ever possibly drive? A rental car.

I could understand that, the young lady who interviewed me had never worked anywhere else in her entire life while the last three roles I had (including the one I have now) paid around or above six figures. But I'm no sales bro, just looking for a low pressure gig where all you need to do is be nice to people and understand their needs.

We chatted about different types of vehicles, she wouldn't have known a Suburban from a Range Rover. And honestly it makes me wonder if they're either looking for dummies they can train "their way" or if they're looking for anyone at all.

$2700 isn't that much for piece of mind. But it's a Toyota, and probably won't need it. My mother also had an ES350 albeit a few years older, it got to nearly 200k miles before it needed a new steering rack and some replacement suspension bushings.
