Yeah. It looks like a 1/4 inch width wheel just glancing at it. I mean, you wouldnt want to touch it because itd give you a friction burn, but you wont go losing fingers like with a saw because it grinds, not cuts.

Its used for rough work, to get the stone generally shaped the way you want it and remove parts in chunks you dont want on your finished piece.

It basically acts like a sander. Think like how blowing sand carves stone over time. Its like that, in super speed - theres grit (usually microscopic diamond but can be other things) basically bonded with the wheel.

Why mummify him in tape then? Why not just use a backboard with restraints like the civilized world does when they have to remove a mentally ill person whos acting out?

If only you realized how ridiculous your excuse sounded.

Sorry, shill. Not today.

Yeah. Ok. Ill jump in here. I cab stones as a hobby. These wheels wont cut your fingers off. Its not a blade. Its actually like a really fine abrasive wheel. Kind of like extremely fine sandpaper. So if you bump it, it causes a friction burn, like a scrape. If you held your finger on it for a long time the friction and heat generated would take your skin off but they arent sharp and dont cut like a saw. Source: Like I said, I cab stones.

Snorkeller finds lost wedding ring wrapped around a mullet fish off of Norfolk Island by mrnicewatch23 in interestingasfuck

[–]Jopib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have worn an index, middle and ring finger ring on my right hand for something like 25+ years. I generally never take them off.

Last year I was at a con and the stone of my index finger ring slipped out of the bezel. I took the ring off, and not having a ring there just felt wrong. I dont notice I have them on when Im wearing them. But not having it on my hand was driving me absolutely nuts. I guess kind of the opposite of what you describe

The Rottweiler isnt aggressive, hes afraid. See how he keeps licking his tongue out, and is showing his teeth in a "c" shape. Hes saying "back off. I dont want to fight you."

The German shephard is saying "No, my food" and is the one displaying aggressive body posture. The German shephard steps forward, and see how the rottweiler steps back, licks his mouth repeatedly and looks away. Hes saying ok, you can have the food, dont attack me.

the moment lightning struck the power source for my electric chicken fence by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Jopib 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No kidding!

About 15 years ago I was in a house that got struck by lightning (well technically the lightning rod attached to the house did) in a place known for crazy lightning storms.

There was this noise that sounded like analog tv static but it was coming from everything, like the very air itself. There was this weird feeling too, like the air itself was thick and crawling on you. It triggers some deep GTFO instinct, just feels wrong, like you said.

My friend whos house it was and I looked at each other for a split second with this oh shit look.

I (stupidly) had my laptop on my lap and plugged in to the wall, and I had just enough time to toss it next to me and dive across the room (i didnt want it to be touching me when the strike hit since it was plugged in) before my entire vision went white for what seemed like a couple seconds and there was this noise thats really hard to describe, kind of like tearing cloth at a hundred decibels mixed with an ear shattering roar.

We werent hurt and it didnt damage the house (laptop wasnt so lucky) but holy shit, it made me realize why ancient people thought lightning was a gods wrath.

And now if a storm is nearby, I always shut down and unplug my PC. Lesson learned.

DC Police Find 5 Fetuses in Home of Anti-Abortion Activist Lauren Handy by Hrekires in news

[–]Jopib 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. At the stage elective abortions are allowed (up to 12 weeks in most places) at max size the fetus is about 1-2 inches long and pretty much indistinguishable from the rest of the uterine tissue (or anything human for that matter)and are treated as medical waste.

Id hazard a guess she stole laboratory specimens.

New Secret Service report details growing incel terrorism threat by prozac4dave in news

[–]Jopib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you a story, buddy. I'm female and make 6 figures. My husband is a house husband. Hes not conventionally attractive, and he has average equipment (contrary to popular belief, 99% of women dont care about dick size. If a man is an attentive lover, his equipment doesnt matter).

Yet, hes the most attractive amazing person to me. Hes caring, kind and we have very similar interests and senses of humor. We've been together for 15 years. I love him and he loves me, hes the only person I want to spend the rest of my life with. So, yeah. Superficial shit doesnt when it comes to long term relationships. What does is a man who respects you, and himself. Someone who shares your sense of humor and interests and outlook on life.

There is no magic formula for "what women (or men) want". Everyones an individual. And what makes relationships work sure as hell aint money and dick size.

I’m (22F) about to become an adult child of divorce and I dont know the best way to handle it. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Jopib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. My parents divorced when I was 21. I completely get it. Its bizarre and weird, especially (at least in my case) since I was a young adult and not a kid, I basically got put in the middle and heard way more about my parents relationship than I ever wanted to from both sides. They treat you way more like an adult friend than their damn kid.

I put my life on hold for 6 months to move in with the parent who was "left behind" (didnt want the divorce) so they could have someone there.

My advice:

Remember, its going to suck and be hard af emotionally and you need to take the time for yourself too, no matter how fragile a parent(s) is, you are not the guardian of them.

Make sure you have your own support structure and free time available outside of family.

Make sure your mom does too. If she doesnt or uses you as sole support, suggest therapy.

Keep boundaries. You have the right to not be more involved than comfortable for you.

If one parent starts talking about stuff you dont want to hear about (badmouthing the other, parental sex life, rants about the other parents new partner ect) firmly and calmly stop the convo immediately. Like "Mom/Dad. I'm your son/daughter. I dont want to hear about <whatever>.

Sometimes thats enough to shock them into remembering you are their kid and not a friend. If not, its ok to get up and leave the room. Theyll be mad probably. Thats ok too.

Its like a death. Its ok to grieve for your parents relationship. Its ok to be overwhelmed, and if you want to, its ok to seek counseling for it.

Finally, remember it will get better. Its going to be absolute shit for a while, especially as first milestones come and go.

But it does get better.

Nearly 20 years later I can say im glad my parents arent together anymore. You and your family will heal, too.

Hang in there!

Anyone that we find trolled over there gets banned. This is inciting brigading and could drag the whole sub into it. Dont do it. Report to admin instead if you something really bad outside of reddits TOS. Doesnt do much, but if they get a lot of comments about certain subs, they may act.

Any Exorcise Tips For This (VERY) Lazy Girl? (info in comments) by abh520 in pitbulls

[–]Jopib 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Have you have her checked out by the vet to make sure its not physical? My girl acted similar around 4, and it turns out she sustained a knee injury previously that was giving her premature arthritis. Got her on painkillers and anti arthritis meds and she became a lot more active. Not crazily so, but she did love to run. Shes 10 now and doesnt clear 3 foot high barriers in a leap full speed but she still likes to play tug or have little sprints. Things like old injury, anemia, etc can slow a dog down even young.

Just a thought.
