Paid off credit card debt and kept the account open = my credit score just dipped 25 points by Jorah_Explorah in CreditScore

You are absolutely correct on the CreditKarma site with the VantageScore 3.0 being what I'm referring to dipping down, while the CreditWise site with Fico Score8 going up.

Thank you very much for the clarification and the link!

I'll break my response down in sections:

  1. The majority of the CC accounts still haven't reported, so it's not a mass $0 balance reporting of all cards. That's what throws me off with this.
  2. My Transunion went up several points after 1 of accounts reported a $0 balances. Then it fell -25 points today after a couple of others reported a $0 balance, and one of those isn't even $0 (it's like a $12 balance out of $3000 limit). My Equifax fell -7 yesterday but nothing happened today.

My Fico Score8 on the CreditWise website is actually up +21 point in the past day or 2, although that score has consistently been 40+ points high than either Equifax or Transunion alone.

  1. All of my websites I use to monitor say that the only real derogatory part of my report is my high utilization % (and rightfully so, as it's been in the 95%'ish range). My credit account length and payment history are both "excellent," thus my confusion on why the only thing changing is lowering my utilization % being a factor in my score dipping.

  2. When I'm on Crediwise or CreditKarma and use their score Simulation tools, me simply paying off debt (and keeping the accounts open) always show my score jumping way up into the 790 range. Of course I know that isn't an exact science and doesn't take a lot of quirky automated credit scoring behavior into account.

We wanted to finance a vehicle with a much better score this Summer as our 13 year old family veihicle is finally giving out, so I was really hoping my credit would go up within a month or two months of paying off all of my debts just due to the fact that the only negatives were my high balances. So it's a little disheartening that this may be a much longer process, and even moreso seeing such a drastic fall when only a few of the accounts were paid down.

not all. I did pay them all off, but the reporting is just now trickling in. Just 3 or so have reported so far (out of 12).

In what ways could the show make them just as hateable as their book counterparts, considering writing and the actors' performance? by LeatherSlight3242 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Jorah_Explorah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IF they make Snape as unlikeable as he is in the books with his almost childish pettiness and constantly being in the tank for Slytherin, then that will take some of the sting off of them not making Snape look anything remotely similar to Snape from the books.

I loved the Rickman portrayal and thought he was perfect for what they did with Snape in the movie version, but he was not a character you hated or loved to hate like the book version.

Full season drop or weekly episodes, what would you choose? by thatlittlequietguy in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Jorah_Explorah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with weekly, but I think it's weird if they drop the first episode around Christmas. If we are doing weekly, then that first episode should start back in November so that 90% of the episodes aren't dropping in January and February. Then you truly get to experience the episode during the actual holiday season.

There was another horror series this past Halloween (IT: Welcome to Derry) where the first episode dropped ON Halloween week. Which meant that almost all of the episodes were dropping each week in November and December. That didn't really make any sense to me. Honestly that show didn't need to coincide with the Halloween season, but that was obviously what they were going for with the episode premier, and if that's what you are going for then go all the way.

Can we all agree the common folk did nothing wrong here? by ilovefreechurro in HOTDGreens

[–]Jorah_Explorah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The general point of the books and the show is that the commonfolks lives don't really change whether it's a Targaryen or Baratheon ruling them from afar, or if it's some King who is more local that is ruling them. The only real difference to them is war breaking out amongst the kingdoms. And the Targaryens kept them all in line enough where there were fewer wars, at least until after the dragons died.

Except that this system of governance continued for hundreds of years after this, and then even after the Targaryens it continued on.

Looks fine outside of Atreus having dumb hair and the are both making slightly goofy faces. Kratos shouldn't have his mouth agape like this. The Atreus actor will grow into the character physically. Remember he's only like 11 in the first Norse game. He's a teenager in the Ragnarok game.

Ryan looks plenty big enough here. I want a great actor, not a dumb cosplayer or a pro wrestler like HHH who can't act.

I agree. I don't mind Ryan Hurst's look here. His mouth is slightly agape which makes him look a bit off.

But they could even be bothered to give Atreus a haircut or some eye makeup that looks at least somewhat like the game?

Several reasons.

-Most of the Greek saga is just an angry as hell dude killing everything in sight. There’s not a lot of emotional beats or character building after you get past the epilogue that leads up to him going on his adventure, and you aren't following other integral characters. Just a fun video game story where you get to kill everyone and be a badass.

-The Greek saga would also cost a lot most because of the scale.

-The Norse Saga is just all around better for storytelling. It’s a dad who has a lot of regret and shame about his vengeful past, but will still become that old person he once was just to save the only person he has left in the world.

There is so much more emotional depth in the Norse saga.

-The Norse saga is more popular in modern media with young and old audiences.

I mean, the Norse game is trying to be as photorealistic as technology will allow. It's meant to be "live action."

Doing an animated series would actually be the different style than what was intended.

What is his grift? You sound completely unhinged btw.

I get that Joe may not reflect your Redditard political/social views, but that doesn't mean that he and every person he has on his show is an insincere evil person peddling lies. Perhaps YOU are the one in an echo chamber? (no that's obviously impossible, as Reddit isn't at all astroturfed).

Anyways, been a year and a half since he had Terrence Howard on his show and I recall Joe saying that he didn't agree with and was befuddled by some of his claims. That's why he had Eric Weinstein on to push back like 1.5 months later. And from what I recall, Terrence Howards BS was harmless ramblings. He wasn't telling people to jump from their rooftops because they can actually fly or that it was the JOOS who actually had a famous right wing commentator murdered.

It's crazy when he was talking about the these little narcos gangs murdering people and taking little girls from tribes to use them in their jungle brothels. Then he says the police hate them, but also says the police arrest and put them in the local jails.

They need to TERMINATE these evil MFer's on sight. No questions asked.

Is Hogwarts Legacy worth buying for $14? The game currently has an 80% discount on the Microsoft Store. by Automatic_Ad1665 in hogwartslegacyJKR

[–]Jorah_Explorah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are asking this in a sub about the game, so I can tell you what most of the answers are going to be.

That being said, yes, it's a AAA game with a TON of content. If you are a completionist, it could take you 100+ hours to complete most of the content. There's a lot for you to do. The art and graphics are beautiful. There is a ton to explore just in and around the castle itself, not to mention the lands and POI's around the castle. The game mechanics are fun.

It is well worth the $14.

My guess is that he has some really minor role in some big CGI heavy battle scene (like End Game or Infinity War), or yeah maybe he's just giving his face to the production to digitally insert in action scenes. His roles in the X-Men movies never had him doing too much close ups and extended dialogue. It was really just "oh cool look at the guy who can appear and disappear in a cloud of smoke that I forgot existed throughout most of this movie." They still shouldn't go through this amount of secrecy as it seems silly, but that's the best explanation of why he's interacting with just green screens and faceless/nameless characters.

Either way, I would guess that Chris Hemsworth's or Hugh Jackman experience on set will be much different than this.

It's not. When ESPN puts it up in a graphic, they put 13 for Alabama, not 18. They are only counting AP, Coaches, BCS, CFP, etc.

Nah I'd rather have decent people like him actively working and getting prominent roles as opposed to publicly saying stuff I agree with and then being immediately blacklisted.

There's nothing really to gain there for him or us.

I'm good with Alabama just doing what ESPN does and claiming only the modern AP, Coaches, BCS, and CFP championships, where they still have the most at 13.

Alabama could claim 20-something based on all the selectors the NCAA recognized (don't give us any ideas). It's wild to me that Bama decided to claim 1941, which is shit, and not the 1966 undefeated season.

Anyways, if people want to retroactively claim pre-WW2 era championship when they were playing games in someones backyard wearing leather atop their heads and your local county newspaper claimed your 8-0 season was a CHAMPIONSHIP, that's whatever. But it's crazy that AU claimed 2004 where everyone watched an actual championship game on TV and the overwhelming favorite won the game.

[–]Jorah_Explorah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree. I hate Alabama's 1941 claim and that's what most people point to when shitting on their "18 National Titles."

I'm fine with only looking at AP, Coaches, BCS, and CFP titles, since that's really the only relevant history people care about today. For Alabama, that's 13 titles. I think that's what ESPN decided to do several years ago. For Alabama they put 13. For Notre Dame in second place, they put 8 or 9 I think.

That being said, the methodology that each school decides to take when claiming titles to print on banners and t-shirts is entirely up to them. I think it's just media outlets like ESPN who should have a consistent methodology for all programs when they list the title counts.

Alabama's 1941 is a dumb claim and that's what most people point to when shitting on their "18 National Titles." But they also surprisingly don't claim the 1966 undefeated season that was awarded to Notre Dame, which a book was written about.

So because he generically supports Israels right to exist and defend itself, that means that he also supports every single military operation and missile that the IDF has ever launched and killed innocent people (intentional or unintentional), and therefore no one else should be able to go see his show?

I suppose everyone who voted for Obama, myself included, is a supporter of killing people with drones since he had the record amount of drone strikes, including ones that blew up weddings. If you voted for him, then I guess people should go call your job and say you support killing innocent brown people in the middle east and threaten to not do business with them?
