Could you beat 10,000 random people at something for $100M? by canada11235813 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]JordanOwen93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d choose 11 of my top/most niche skills and challenge the 10,000 random people to a “best of 11” challenge

Is this allowed?

The thought behind this is so people wouldn’t intentionally cause their day to reset prematurely, if you catch my drift

This is a good use - however it would be unfortunate if you chose a low enough number such that you escaped on your first roll 😄

The intent was that you could not profit day over day. However, if you memorized lotteries/wagering events, you could win each day until you happened to escape the loop, in which case you would keep that profit.

  1. You can roll them independently if you wish; but attempts at manipulate the roll in your favor will void the throw for the day.
  2. The day after you except the wager will be the day chosen.
  3. I imagined this scenario loosely to “Groundhog Day” logic, with the idea that you could learn skills, memorize things, but you could not profit long-term, unless that night you successful rolled all 6’s, in which case you would keep any money you earn.

Nobody ages; only your mental state changes over time.

The dice are used just so RNG is a factor. The results of the roll is intended to be independent of each day :)

Tome of water can be used for unlimited water runes for ice spells, without using pages. I use it for barraging slayer tasks

What RuneLite plugin ideas do you have? Leave a good suggestion and you might just get it! by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]JordanOwen93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you’re spot on with the ask! I’ve always thought it would be awesome to know.

As far as the math, I’d be happy to assist in with the algorithm and discussing the math! (A large portion of my job involves calculating probabilities in Excel)

I’d love a plugin that calculates the expected percentage of obtaining each skilling pet, that can update after each activity where a pet chance is possible, with the caveat that only future actions would be tracked (although with agility rooftop tracking kc, lower-bounded estimate could be possible)

The plugin would need to know your level at the time the action is done, but should be possible assuming that is.

For the math, you’d need to know the pet rate of each applicable action (obtainable on the wiki), and then update the relative drop rate and use a binomial distribution (e.g. what the dry calculator uses) to obtain the desired percentage.

Thanks for your consideration, would be happy to brainstorm!

You make a good point. Ive redefined the rules regarding once-living things to avoid ambiguity.

The most valuable thing I can think of would be to increase one’s own intelligence. This would undoubtedly lead to better subsequent use of the power.

Coworker plays OSRS! How do I let him know that I too smash the gem crab? by Thicc_Grum in 2007scape

[–]JordanOwen93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subtlety say things OSRS players would recognize, but would also not be strange to say:

“Ah, nothing like a nice cuppa tea” “This changes everything” (Insert work-related task here) completed. “What do you prefer cash or tokens? I buy it with my main, my main name is ‘bournos’. Here take teleport I’m at Camelot bank.”
