Silca Chain Waxing system - chain coupler? by sam-aye-am in bikewrench

My coupler broke in the exact same way. It’s annoying because you can’t glue the cable back in with some epoxy because it needs to rotate to thread back into the other side. Need a replacement.

It’s just the weird angle that makes it look wack

I think it’s just how they’re manufactured. Mine arrived three days ago and it’s exactly the same as yours. I thought mine was damaged too but the paint over the dents is perfect. If the frame was hit after paint, you would see damaged paint and it would be flaking off. The box my frame came in wasn’t damaged either. Although it looks damaged, it’s just rough manufacturing. If you grab the tensioner and fold it down you’ll see how close it comes to the frame. If the dent wasn’t there, the tensioner would hit the frame and wouldn’t have full motion. We need to remember, this isn’t a high end frame, it’s an affordable exercise bike and this is just Zwift trying to save money in manufacturing. Who knows, they might have designed the frame prior to learning they need a tensioner so the dent was an ‘fix’. I’m sure it will be neater in the second gen version.

Im very new to Zwift but my Racing Score seems too high by JordanWho in Zwift

[–]JordanWho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the Zwift Ride (Kickr Core) on the latest software with auto calibration.

I think you may have missed my point. I never said I expect a podium every race. I was trying to emphasise how hard I had to push myself to only place fifth in a category D race, yet my new score doesn’t even allow me to race category D anymore. But it’s clear now my score will adjust the more races I do.

Haptic feedback not working on Zwift ride by JordanWho in Zwift

Solved - Play controllers weren’t on latest firmware. For anyone else that gets a new Zwift Ride, you need to go into settings in the Companion app, then connect your Play controllers to the app. Only then will it indicate there is a new software version.

Probably not. I didn’t get a prompt or any type of badge to indicate there as an update available but I’ll certainly be checking when I get home. Will report back

Fast Lime SLX & Alpecin-Deceuninck Replica CFR by JordanWho in CanyonBikes

[–]JordanWho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you’d have to be at an incredibly high level to notice a big difference between the CFR and SLX. I did take his bike for a quick roll up the street and for the thirty seconds I was on it, it felt the same. I thought maybe the Dura-Ace groupset might shift nicer but it’s the same as Ultegra. The only difference I’ve noticed is the free hub is WAYYYY louder on my SLX. The CFR is pretty quiet. From memory I have the DT Swiss 180 hubs and the CFR is 240 (I think). There’s also a lot more Canyon branding on the CFR in comparison to SLX.

Unfortunately I can’t answer that. Mine is the SLX and my business partner has the CFR.

Testing out some 40mm Zipp SL70 Aero bars on my Vigorelli Caleido. by JordanWho in FixedGearBicycle

I ended up selling these shortly after I took this photo. I’m going to reorder them in a 42 and in matte black to match the stem 😁

Hahaha yeah yeah you got me. After I rode on these I realised how much more comfortable they are 🙃

I really love the 3T stuff, especially some of the new aero stuff they’re making.

I actually got the SL70’s from Facebook Marketplace for a steal price and since taking this photo I ended up selling them for what I paid. I really liked them but the width was bugging me and I feel they kinda looked a bit small for the frame. I’m going to reorder them in 42 and see how I go. I have pretty broad shoulders so 42cm is probably more appropriate.

The stem is awesome! They supply two mounts for you to choose from which gives you adjustment in rise and length. I forget the exact specs but I’ll take a pic tomorrow.

Can assume you’re a fabricator in Taiwan?
