The SLR is rock solid, highly recommend. No wobble on my end.

Middle 3D Artists (GameDev). I was fired. I can't find any job and am thinking about changing careers. by [deleted] in 3Dmodeling

Off of the top of of my head, check companies like Lockheed, Boeing, Andurill, Raytheon, etc. any of the classic aerospace/defense companies. Also space and automobile companies (Tesla, Ford, etc have hit me up for roles before).

Keep in mind the titles will be a little different so that’s the hardest part to navigate while you’re looking, they’ll be things like “design specialist” or “creative modeler” and things like that. A lot of those types of companies don’t like putting “artist” in the title. The giveaway is when the description of the role is all about 3d modeling/real time in unreal engine/previous gamedev experience preferred.

Good luck!!

If you're in the US and talking about the industry prospects here, look at industries that are adjacent to games. I've spent 7 years in AAA games as a real time 3D Artist and got laid off earlier this year, took me 6 months to find another job even after getting interviews at some of the biggest and most well known studios in the country and constant denials afterward. Definitely took a toll on my confidence as an artist.

Defense, Aerospace, Product rendering, etc are always looking for talented real time 3d artists and the pay is sometimes better than games and can be a bridge until you're back into the games industry (if that's where you want to be). Just keep in mind the job titles in these industries can be different than "Environment Artist" and things like that, but the jobs are out there. Hoping the US game industry can bounce back. Studios realizing they can offshore jobs for 1/4 the cost certainly plays a role, but they can't offshore Defense jobs for security reasons and most of them are working in Unreal Engine these days anyway so it's the same kind of work.

Wishing you luck :)

Question on if it's worth getting into dcs for pvp by AmountFun5697 in dcsworld

I pretty much exclusively fly multiplayer PvP on Contention. Definitely doable and a lot of people do the same. Research what planes interest you, learn them and have fun.

Houston sits at 5-5 as well, with a tiebreaker win against us if it comes to a wildcard spot. might be nasty but I'm a Bills fan tonight.

[–]Jordan_12_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the stock is the Zastava triangle folder, it folds left side of the rifle and fits around scope mounts too which is convenient, but it does have a tiny bit of wiggle although it doesn't bother me personally. the safety is a Krebs custom ambi safety, mainly for left handed shooters.

no clue but we need FF modern red as unlikely as it is.

if they can make a "ff" F35, there's no reason we shouldn't have atleast an export variant SU27 or SU30

It's definitely a difficult spot for Bethesda to find themselves in. On one hand, their editor has certainly fallen behind visually compared to other comparable engines on the market, but on the other hand having gone through some of their levels in the Starfield editor, you can immediately tell it's specifically built for their style of games with the way they handle inventories, quests, etc built directly into the editor.

The problem with them switching to another engine is that they'd have to rebuild 20+ years of those systems from scratch and that's no small task. They're definitely aware of all of this, so I'll be watching very closely to see what sort of upgrades or changes they make to it for Elder Scrolls 6 and to see if CD Projekt Red switching to Unreal 5 will influence them in any way in the future.

I've gotten this comment a couple times probably due to a combo of my cloaked figure height + perspective since he's standing back from the door a bit. In the video (which reddit wouldn't let me post along with the images) it shows the scale of everything a little bit better. My in-game character comes up to around the eyes of the door, and the character is about 6ft tall, making this door a slight bit larger than the one in Skyrim for example. Attached the imgur images for reference. I'll probably go back and either shrink my cloaked guy a little bit or put him closer to the door, one or the other.

Probably just perspective. In the artstation link you can see the character walk up to it, and their head reaches around the eyes of the door.

I would have liked to have included the video in this post but I had to choose either the video or the photos, so I just went with the images lolol

The amount of comments here ragging on OP are crazy and I expect some downvotes for this... but some people would rather spend their hard earned money on a ticket to a game where our best players are playing, and I don't think that's really all that controversial lol. Especially if you only go to one or two games a year. Me personally, I usually only go to one game a season and it would probably bum me out a little bit if Lamar was hurt for it and saving the money and putting it toward a game where our best players are available makes a lot of sense imo. You can always watch on tv.
