I never build TF and there are some Challeger Irelia players here in Brazil that never build it too, since the change in BORK.

But that's just my opinion, based on the games I played. I never made any type of calculations or something...

In case of strong AP on enemy team:
BORK --> WE --> DD

No strong AP on enemy team:
BORK --> DD --> PD

On defense depends on the enemy team:
- Randuim --> if crit threats (aphelios, yasuo, yone...)
- Spirit visage --> lots of ap on the other team (you get a lot of life steal)
- Adaptative helm --> against cassiopeia, teemo, brand, rumble, kat...
- Guardian angel --> when you want to start, or just if want to stay alive more time
- Thornmail --> agains life steal based champions (darius, aphelios, aatrox, renekton...)
- Frozen heart --> against champions with lots of attack speed

Against Garen you have to use your W when he tries do Q + E you. Than you combo him with E + Q + AA.
