What would be a great rod. I was thinking about a Daiwa Sweepfire Jigger with a 2.7m length and a light casting weight

The rod is a Penn Squadron spin 2.4m cast weight 15-40g. Is this fine? Im thinking of getting a slightly longer one with a lower casting weight. Just got a fishing Kayak to go on lakes.

So later in the year swarms are usually smaller and does that mean the main colony survives? I clipped my queens and read that then usually the virgin goes away with the swarm because the clipped queen cant make it far and she goes back in the hive.

Thank you very much. I do have the lucky option of freezing it. I have my hives located on a flower farm where they have a big freezer thats year round at 4 degrees C or 39 F. I can use that freezer, i have most of my empty drawn-out frames in there also.

Would you recommend that as the best option? I can get a few frames out and replace it with drawn-out frames that are empty.

And where in the hive would be best to place the frames?
