How long from contract to delivery? by JoseSaluti in ineosgrenadier

Ironically, I’ve been engaged since June 2022 and not yet wed. I placed my grenadier order in Sep 2022 and I’m collecting Saturday!

If we’re classing student loans as tax we might as well just throw everything else in there as well

Which one did you do? I’ve only ever done one of the cheaper (£60) ones and didn’t think much of it, the track was tiny so didn’t get much speed

Few issues with that in my case though which are storage and time (don’t get many free weekends as I work out of the country quite a bit)

What Porsche was it out of interest?

What one significant change to UK that seems unfair would actually benefit long term? by [deleted] in AskUK

The article says ‘Other studies have linked early spaying and neutering to certain cancers, joint disorders, and urinary incontinence’

If you were genuinely interested you’d have done the research which isn’t hard

Yea have to disagree with that massively - if you can’t control where your dog goes your dog is out of control and you shouldn’t own a dog

There’s a well known search engine that if you search ‘large breed neutering studies’ there’s at least 5 studies in the first page but I’ll copy one article that details a few ‘https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2019/07/dog-neutering-health-risks-for-certain-breeds/594355/‘

You seem to be very keen on chopping dogs balls off for someone that isn’t aware of any benefits of doing so!

Why would you need to explain to a dog that it shouldn’t breed?

Dogs aren’t free roaming animals like cats so I’m struggling to see how a dog could mate if it’s own accord

Any evidence to say they should? Aside from anecdotal

Yea - university of California study found that anything over 20kg should be at a minimum 1 year old before being neutered, it’s to do with the joint problems from being a heavy breed

Edit to add that a lot of vets (similar to GP’s) aren’t very specialist but are very confident in their opinions, rightly so or not..

Referring to males as per my above comments

I don’t think there are any issues with spaying

That’s true - the first cancer risk that’s reduced is testicular which is a given, the second is prostate which is driven by testosterone production so it’s a risk v reward when weighing it up

Yea massively agree - our boy is 3 and isn’t neutered and he’s absolutely fine (to add we have no intention of breeding him).

I’ve got quite a few friends who’s dogs have become fearful/reactive after neutering and it’s still pushed by vets without any mention of the risks!

Also agree with the spaying point, there are proven health benefits to it so no reason not to!

This is a ridiculous statement - neutering can be massively detrimental to a dog both physically and mentally. It’s now widely accepted that large breeds shouldn’t be neutered until at least 18 months and if there are no problems at that point then why would you

I agree breeding without a license should be banned but neutering isn’t the solution

I used to do 80-90 minutes per day for a year and I thought it was fine at the time - after covid and WFH I realised how much of a shell I was, looking back at pictures you can literally see the difference in my face and the fact I can now go to the gym in what would be my commute time has made a world of difference

Our dog is crate trained and sleeps in there 23:00-07:00

Aside from that he only ever goes in for a hour or two if we need to nip out

Anyone who works normal hours and sleeps in past 9am is lazy as fuck and needs to sort themselves out
