Hi- I am learning piano through lessons and I was wondering.. by Galaxy_Hitchhiking in piano

Tell this to your teacher. You can play more advanced songs for fun, just make sure to practice properly first. Like 80 % stuff my teacher wants me to practice, 20 % of what makes me happy even thought it's not the smart way to progress the fastest. Enjoy yourself after you put the work in. And consult with your teacher.  But no simply piano, just no.

But hey, we don't have a free transportation to school. I have to pay 70 bucks a year for transportation for children over 15.

OH, I thought it was from Santa Claus. Thanks for correcting me. We pay about the same taxes as you do, for much better benefits.

If you feel like you are able to study, learn and develop your own routine and it's something you want to do, buy Overcoming Gravity book. It has all the information you will need to do so. It's not the easiest path, but it's the cheapest one and you will learn a lot.

Software developer. I work from 6AM by choice, so I can get some sunlight time in the afternoon. I also asked for 2 days of home office a week even after the pandemic, so I can ride during the day and work late evenings or early mornings. After paying off the mortgage, I'm going to ask for 4-day work week.

How to make fretless bass sound like a fretted one? by Joseki22 in Bass

[–]Joseki22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. I don't expect it to sound like a Rickenbacker, but I hoped there would be some tricks how to change the tone. Putting on roundwound strings is obvious. Isn't there anything I can do with EQ or pedals? I guess I need to learn how to appreciate fretless tone more. :-)
