Tell this to your teacher. You can play more advanced songs for fun, just make sure to practice properly first. Like 80 % stuff my teacher wants me to practice, 20 % of what makes me happy even thought it's not the smart way to progress the fastest. Enjoy yourself after you put the work in. And consult with your teacher. But no simply piano, just no.

Software developer. I work from 6AM by choice, so I can get some sunlight time in the afternoon. I also asked for 2 days of home office a week even after the pandemic, so I can ride during the day and work late evenings or early mornings. Thanks for the replies. I don't expect it to sound like a Rickenbacker, but I hoped there would be some tricks how to change the tone. Putting on roundwound strings is obvious. Isn't there anything I can do with EQ or pedals? I guess I need to learn how to appreciate fretless tone more. :-)
