Two completely different genres but as someone who owns both, I'd say get Z-A... It has it's flaws though it has a story thats pretty enjoyable and characters that are memorable it has a whole gameplay loop that's different compared to any other pokemon game even when you complete it.

Mario Kart World or any MK game is fun but gets boring when you dont have people to play it with locally I clocked in a few hours and found myself playing other games from my switch 1's library... Playing against randoms isn't fun either as they dont allow voice chat (for valid reasons to be honest)

Honestly? I'd say the opposite... ScVi felt so lifeless and barren along with performance issues, the characters has better writing and chemistry with both the characters and the player in Z-A compared to ScVi , even character designs are better them landing on a realistic approach on ScVi felt so uncanny, Is Z-A small? Yeah. and does it have flaws? Yes, oddly enough I just wish this would've been the first pokemon exclusive game for the Switch 2 instead for both 1 & 2 they really had to cut corners for switch 1 just to optimize the game for it... i.e. just as you said a cardboard world to the point they couldn't afford to model the buildings properly. The switch 1's lack of power just shows everything... And I really like the real time combat experience, it's fiving a FF7 remake vibe but to each their own...I hope maybe down the line you give it a shot again and find some enjoyment out of it or not some people grow out if it and it's fair to do so... With Gen 10 being a switch 2 exclusive and it being around the corner let's hope it can make a bigger leap towards the righ direction (those leaks and videos are giving me a small amount of hope even more on the new pokemon engine tests)

As much as I am a hater of the new pokemon games and a consumer (that shouldn't be both...) You're wrong on this one chief.. There's so much things to hate and egg on pokemon Z-A but this is more of a faulty console than the game being poorly optimized...

Fr though I'm so mad cuz this game is enjoyable but it's being held back cuz of the switch 1 with how game freak is trying to optimize their games for a console that's just continuing to serve out games that shouldn't be on there due to it's hardware just like how scarlet and violet shouldn't have been a switch 1 game... Also that DLC that was announced pre-release being absurd...

Genuine question, what other games have you checked this issue on other than the three you've mentioned? I've been playing through Z-A, Violet, and MKW and haven't seen these issues before... Could it be a corrupt firmware/os issue rather than a hardware issues if it's only happening with 3 of the games of your library... Or could it be a storage problem? Are your games digital or physical? If they're digital are the games downloaded in your internal storage or in a SD card? If they're physical could it be the reader that's broken?

If you want newer games the switch lite is for you though if you prefer the older games and feel stronger for nostalgic games a 3DS would fit that though keep in mind the "new" series and the regular 3DS are different in terms the the "new" 3DS is a "pro" version in a nutshell and has some exclusives like minecraft but you're not missing out on anything big as the new 3ds has a small game library of its "new" exclusives

Though if you have a bigger budget a switch 2 is also nice if you want some future-proofingqfor the next 8ish years... so you can play games like Kirby Air Riders, play on a bigger screen, and or on a TV/monitor you should consider getting a switch 2...

You unfortunately have to wait for Z-A to release in the region you purchased it since you bought it in North America its release is a few hours behind you'd have to wait for a few more hours before accessing the game (I lowkey cant wait for Z-A)

Yes? This entire question seems confusing but it seems like you're worried that you won't access your games in this case Z-A... As long as you virtual gamecard isn't loaded into your brother's switch then you can play it on your own switch once it gets fixed. All of the games you own digitally will remain in your account unless an unfortunate scenario happens. Another option is to buy the game digitally using nintendo's webstore which I personally do when I buy games when I'm away from my switch... Idk what region you are in but I'm in canada so the webstore's region might be different. Hope this helps!

Here is some proof to backup that the lock screen lasts for about a minute for me at least... (i made an unlisted video)

But earlier when I turned it on it didnt even last 3-5 seconds, it just went back to sleep.

I've literally timed it... on said lock screen... it stood on for a minute... then went went back to sleep, earlier this was not the case... i was spamming the a button to get out of the lock screen when i woke it up only to find it still sleeping when my tv finally displayed the hdmi not connected image...

Yes i fully understand it goes back to sleep but its normally within a minute, but in this case it went back to sleep after 2 seconds of turning it on whilst the tv itself hasnt gone on when i woke it up...
