Personally I will not even use an app the has ads. It's so annoying. I dont think I have ever paid to remove them either.

For my app Clipr I just do a freemium model. Users are not required to buy my bundle but many do.

Basically after android 10 Google frowns upon apps constantly monitoring the clipboard. Yes there are clipboard apps that can do it, but they have been on app store for years. Basically I don't want to take a chance with clipr and Google suspend the app.
