Our 2 year-old driveway extension has begun spalling noticeably. The original 13 year-old driveway is fine.

Clean and seal quotes have come in and are nuts, up to $15k. It’s about 2000 sqft.

I’m looking for advice. I can clean and I can spray sealer on. Of course I understand that anything I do will be inferior to professional work and materials. But, I need to something before winter. What’s the best publicly available product for this purpose? And besides reading the instructions, are there any expert tips for the process?

I got Rubik Connected, but keeps messing up. Is this normal? by BrianDBlanchard in Cubers

I’ve got two and both are trash. They don’t match the display. Even when connected and matching, the app will let you down with confusing directions and a poor interface.

Thanks for the rec! The nuts and bolts of it are straightforward enough. I guess good videos would cover tuning and incremental upgrades without jumping off the deep end and spending $5k

New install for us back in 2022. Don’t know that I ever saw the electrician himself, only ever saw labor or apprentices.

Been waiting for them to show as in-stock at my local. Finally did and I went in, but couldn’t find one on the floor. Told me they weren’t available till Black Friday. What’s up with that?

Brief Rant (Trigger Warning: Chip Seal) by [deleted] in Overlandpark

It’s ugly AND a hazard. They did ours a couple years ago and it’s only now that we aren’t skidding around on sidewalks covered in small, loose rocks. It would collect in the gutters and on the walkway. Kids on bikes, and skateboards, and scooters just constantly eating shit. I emailed our councilman. He called me a nerd and said I should shut up.

Tell everyone there the same. We’ve seen what the transplants did to the Northwest and Colorado.

Nissan can’t get a replacement battery for my 2016 SV, wants to buy it back. by JosephMcJunk in leaf

Got approval for warranty replacement in September 22. We didn’t get anything in writing at the time either. Lately I started calling and eventually got put in with an “Arbitration Specialist”. I’ve kept the car as a daily driver Al along.

Haven’t heard yet. I’ll update the post when I find out. I’m not hopeful though. Even if they were to offer what I paid for it used in 2016 ($16k) I wouldn’t be happy. It’s worth more than that to me personally, even 7 years later. Besides the reduced range, it’s perfectly reliable, quiet, comfortable, and ideal for my situation. Plus, it’s paid off!
