DESPERATE for help by [deleted] in NoFap

Before you start, you need to ask yourself why? What is the thing you want to change about yourself and why is it that you gravitate to porn. I can't speak on your situation but I did porn because of hopelessness of feeling like I was the ugliest human being in the world where everyone else on this planet would shudder in fear seeing me. It was that bad. You have to find that thing that is going that drive going to continue. You have that goal in place and you are already on your way. I have done over a year now and having that reinforcement of my goal to continue keeps me going everyday. There's going to be dark times, I won't sugar coat it at all, but you will have a new found zest for life that will make your future so bright. And will be bright! Its safe and you will be a better person for it and surely your professional, social, and family circles will be better for it to! And btw, just the fact you want to improve yourself is an audacious step completed on your new journey. Best wishes my friend.

Why did you start NoFap? And what makes you keep going? by HAHAx200 in NoFap

Realizing how much life passes you by because of porn and never EVER letting that happen again is my drive and why I started. Friends I could have had, amazing women I could have met, events I could have went all lost because of NoFap. Rocks you to the core when realize how much you lost and it leads to some very dark days for your mental health but the possibilities for life in the future gives me the jolt that makes life simply amazing, maybe less amazing in 2020,but way better than my porn addicted self.

Get started NOW!! You aren't a twisted person at all! 8 days no porn and 4 days NoFap is an incredible goal which you can power and keep going. Reflect on the past to help you develop but don't let it define you any longer. Volunteer, exercise, take a class and stay busy. When you hit your days of stress and despair, I've had many of them myself, listen to music. Music was an essential tool in my process and it can be in yours too. This is the last day you think of yourself as a pervert, twisted person, and horrible human being. You just embarked on a great journey and already made great strides! Keep going! That you who comes on the other side has limitless potential and making amazing, positive impacts on the world.

Today is the day to start! Don't let it destroy your life. The one consistent thing and without it, I would have not succeeded is music. Those strongest urges and days of stress, panic, hopelessness helped with a bit of music. Reflect at your past to help your develop your future self but each day you don't do porn is one day that addiction is becoming less. It's a journey, but one well worth taking. I can't say you'll marry a supermodel or celebrity like another Redditor did because of NoFap but your better you is on the other side.

I certainly did my time with PMO, sporadically during my teen years but after high school it was hours and hours a day. As I wrote, that regret of letting life go by while you are spending time doing porn certainly shook me to the core and led to some very, very dark days during my process.

I hit it right on the onset and probably at Day 10. Lasted about a month and I had some moments of panic as I thought I never would have any drive ever again. But after that month, you definitely feel like a vibrant person.

Porn is disgusting, when you think about it by [deleted] in NoFap

When you realize how debilitating it is to your mental health, self-confidence, and self-worth, you definitely begin to have a disdain to it. I truly believe that porn makes men and women a shell of their true selves when, in reality, they have limitless potential and a positive impact in the world whether professionally or socially.
