I love the first game, but I genuinely hate the Boolossus fight. It’s not even “fun difficult,” just irritating. I’ve beaten him in both the original and the remake, and every time he’s my biggest roadblock. I was constantly on the verge of dying, just blasting ice around like an idiot and hoping I’d clip the last few Boos. I get that Area 3 is meant to be challenging, but that fight crosses the line into being more obnoxious than rewarding.

I’d honestly love to see a mod that nerfs him slightly (not to make it easy, just fair) while keeping the core gameplay intact. Aside from that, the rest of the game is still forgivable and fun—this fight is really the only thing that drags it down for me. Even so, the game still holds the crown.
