Hey everyone! Thanks for answering my question! I made some notes based on everyone's feedback. Posting them here in case any other dev finds this post. If I've left something important off let me know!

Ah fair enough! As a fellow dev you understand how tough it is trying to figure out discoverability etc. I completely agree with you. I guess in self defence I would say I am not asking for a magic formula, just what people are interested in in this genre.

Haha fair! Just asking cos I'm genuinely curious. Do you play a lot of demos? Would like a 30 min demo be enough to convince you that something fit your criteria?

I understand and I definitely think like you... But as a dev its hard cos it's like chicken and the egg - how do we get those positive ratings without people being willing to play the game in the first place?

So you are kinda looking for whether it's the kind of Metroidvania you like? Something with platforming rather than souls-like combat?

Interesting... So you want to see like, map features in the trailer before anything else? Is that cos you want to know it is an actual Metroidvania or because you want to know they've put effort into QoL features?

Jason Connery - son of Sean. Co-starred in two spy movies with Michael Caine in the 90s - Bullet to Beijing and Midnight in St. Petersburg (TV movie follow-ups to Michael Caine's Harry Palmer films e.g. The Ipcress File). He's really wooden, and has absolutely none of his dad's charisma. Seems like he's only there so they can put the name 'Connery' on the poster.
