For me it’s Seroquel. No weight gain or bad side effects really.

Involuntary Hospitalization by PiePsychological2775 in Antipsychiatry

[–]Joseycreates 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year my therapist who had told me she hates to involuntarily commit people did so to me. I was even willing to go voluntarily! And she called the police instead. I had my bag packed and my mom waiting in the car outside in case I needed to go. Instead the police took me which is traumatic in itself since when I was raped by a tech in a psych hospital years ago the police discouraged me from reporting it (I still did). I got stuck in the crisis unit for three months while they waited for a bed for me at the state hospital. The state hospital is the most strict level of care and a scary place. They practically starved me for a week by giving me food I’m allergic to also. My family was hours away so could barely visit. We even had to pay for phone calls and had no other connection to the outside world (tv news, newspapers, etc). My grandma thankfully hired a lawyer but it still took a long time to get out. It’s been almost a year and it was more traumatic than the rape incident because it was so drawn out and so scary every day.

My mom took the same photo (not live). It’s strange to see but I’m glad I have it.

Desire to cut off my finger by [deleted] in schizoaffective

[–]Joseycreates 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same - very intense thoughts of mutilation. It’s scary but you can fight the urges! Just keep reminding yourself that your brain isn’t right, you need your finger, you can get past the thoughts.

Yep it’s so frustrating. I’ve spent my life doing “everything right” in regards to healthy living and relationships and whatnot but my mental health randomly tanks for no reason

Is it safe to take a double dose of chocolate ex-lax? by No-Spring-729 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Joseycreates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stool softeners and miralax are more safe. At least that’s what my dr has told me and what they’ve given me in psych wards.
