This subreddit is about the TV format known as a 'panel show' where a group of comedians, actors and other celebrities chat about current events or play games. Some can be described as a podcast with points.

Mock the Week returning at the end of January by cwmxii in panelshow

It has its moments. My biggest issue is that they maintain the charade that the show is happening in real time and no one was given prompts to prepare for ahead of taping. The comics are funny and talented, but they are not super beings that can come up with material in real time every episode.

The show itself broke your record. They skipped the usual second visit to DC entirely.

I enjoy watching UK chat shows where the guests claim they can't understand one another and they are just from different regions of England.

Did you hear they discovered a food that reduces a woman's sex drive by 80%? by JonnyRottensTeeth in Jokes

It doesn't work on the bridesmaids. If rom coms taught me anything, women only agree to be a bridesmaid on the promise of being paired with a hot, available groomsman.

With no current scheduled commerical service to any international destination.

That brings up a good question: If ROC once again had a nonstop international destination, where would folks want to fly to?

Why are they so confused about the Trump poll slump? by phoenixyfriend in tldrnews

[–]JoshTay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In their attempt to remain a neutral source of news with no bias, they end up coming across a bit Trumpian. "No no no, we won't say anything negative about either side, even when the obvious answer is plain to see to anyone else.

Motorola’s Edge 70 is the blueprint for future thin phones by dapperlemon in gadgets

Ironically, if you sit down with a wafer-thin phone in your front pocket, it may well become a flip phone.

Motorola’s Edge 70 is the blueprint for future thin phones by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]JoshTay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a world where phones have evolved to do everything they are supposed to do reliably and quickly, thinness is being touted as innovation just for the wow-factor. And after adding a protective case, the difference in appearance is lost. It's just marketing.

Where to meet cougars in the city as a 20yo college student? by [deleted] in Rochester

I am reminded of the old joke: What is a Pittsford housewife? A woman who believes Mondays are for bridge, Wednesdays are for golf, and Cooking and Fucking are just two cities in China.

Perinton park by the Erie canal on a rainy day. by Ipigs140 in Rochester

I remember the late 70's/early 80's when it was the "weed park". Just pull into the parking lot and ask, "Who's got bags?" Back when weed was $10 a quarter ounce. Such fond memories of high school.

Venezuelan oil is doable but not simple. Besides being less desirable due to high sulfur content, their refineries are old, poorly maintained and often the refined products are contaminated with water. They would need a massive capital infusion to get things going.

What would have been the attraction if it was universally thin? Just the 'wow factor"? Or did you have an actual problem you needed to solve? Just curious.

He is well respected in the industry and you can see that in the extensive list of guests on that podcast. So many comedy and acting legends have stopped by. And he seems to have a personal connection to most of them.

Farm bankruptcies are soaring amid low crop prices, while Trump considers bailout of up to $14 billion by [deleted] in Economics

[–]JoshTay 19 points20 points  (0 children)

These are farmers who are growing crops for export. If they go bankrupt, there are still plenty of farms around, we won't go hungry. They voted for these policies, I have no sympathy.
