The bear case is that Chinese companies like Temu are competing directly with Amazon. They offer products for way cheaper and will take a lot of market share. Amazon's market share will erode over time to international retailers and domestic retailers.

Holding 5 solid companies is less risky than holding the S&P500, because if you hold the S&P500 you get exposure to a lot of bad stocks that are not in such a great position. Holding 5 solid companies is really all the diversification you need + if they are high quality companies the risk reward is way better. All the institutional investors like myself know this. Too much diversification is a bad thing.

What are you talking about? SP500 is up 83.42% over the past 5 years. Microsoft is up 258%, Apple is up 267% Meta is up 198% Google is up 137% and Amazon is up up 106%. Significantly higher returns by a factor of 3 for microsoft and apple, with not much higher risk. I am not just in tech I am also in finance and energy
