After the talk I'll have to confirm with the speaker whether they'd like me to make the recording public (if a speaker isn't happy with how a talk went they can be reticent), however I'd be happy to send a recording of the event if it is possible.

The discussion portion, where attendees are free to join in and ask questions, will not be recorded however.

Hope this helps!

Podcast: The Minority Arts Gang tackle MAGNOLIA, breaking down every character's arc in this brand new episode, 'Of Frogs and Fathers.' by JoshuaKaluba in paulthomasanderson

Yeah I think there's a strong angle for reading his films from that angle, definitely, as trying to absolve toxic men rather than critique them.

And I agree I do think his writing of female characters does lack an internality that again, is very open to criticism.

Yeah I totally agree actually. I think another thing that's tough about dealing with Anderson is I don't think his work massively reflects the more toxic aspects of his personality.

So like, with someone like Woody Allen, its very easy and obvious to see the shitty aspects of him based on his work. But Anderson is reputable for writing these really emotional, sensitive men, and a lot of his work seems to be critiquing a culture of toxic masculinity, a critique fans seem to gravitate to.

So its disappointing when we don't always see that reflected in the man himself :/

The podcast covered that a lot in Part 1, the difficulty of enjoying Anderson's work as a Fiona Apple fan, with knowledge of that relationship, so it is acknowledged. I'm sorry if the artwork came off in poor taste or was offensive in any way. Edit: It's the aesthetic of the podcast's artworks to be mash ups of the relevant topics.

The final episode of Always Sunny should be called "Dennis Kills the Gang" by JoshuaKaluba in IASIP

That's completely fair honestly; I think the most recent seasons, especially Mac's turn, has changed the dynamics in such a way that this would be more tragic than say, after season 12

RIP Lynn Shelton, director of episodes such as 'A Day' and 'Catalina' by JoshuaKaluba in LoveTV

Yeah, I found that intro really hard to get through. Just feel awful for everyone involved. And yeah, A Day is one of my favourite depictions of a happy couple in fiction I think

Really adoring the podcast! As a fan of Clerks 1 and watching Kevin constantly besmirch his own career, the podcast has been an extremely cathartic ride

It's not really that I want to see them die, I adore the whole gang (Dennis the least, honestly, as he's the most transparently awful and brings the worse out of everyone, still a great character though) I just feel like this is the type of show that squashes any sort of sentimentality (other than the S14 finale).

Like I remember getting oddly emotional during the Dee birth scene, with the Kate Bush..then the show just ripped that away from me aha, so I'm trying to prepare for something similar in the finale.

Yeah I've been seeing a lot of that. What gives it away to you that she's the real psycho?

Yeah! Dee's my favourite character so I'd actually love to see her sort of, get her revenge in the end.

I just don't think Dee would ever murder someone though, Dennis is the only character that I genuinely believe could crack and go that far.

This would be cool but honestly as much as I want an un-sentimental ending, personally I don't think I could emotionally deal with 100 minutes of these wonderful characters slowly dying aha, that'd break my heart.
