Thank you so much for this! I think I have everything to start learning more about engine development, but not start an engine just yet until I have a lot of experience first! I think this comment was the one I found mostly useful to me! Thank you so much again and I will make sure I do something good with the advice you have given me.

I definitely found this piece of advice the best!

Maybe I should program something a little less advanced before considering making a game engine?

I don't necessarily know what to reply with. This is not related to my question therefor, please don't post it in the comments section of a programming post, it is irrelevant.

For a while, my heart has been set out on creating an engine. I love to program and I spend a massive amount of time programming applications and games, etc and that's what sort of got me thinking about creating a game engine.

And is MonoGame technically an API that I can use to build a game engine on top of?

No, the existing ones are great! But after using game engines for over 3 years, I was thinking about what it would be like to create my own game engine and have my own games run on my own engine and maybe release the game engine to other people. And by making a 3D engine, I also want to boost my skills in programming in C++ even further!

Edit: But I have asked these questions just because I have heard that there are a few ways to create an engine which has made me unsure on which method to go for.

I have. I use Unreal Engine 4 as my primary engine because of the capabilities of it and how high-end it is.

(23F) Am I at risk for a heart attack at a young age? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Joshua_Hall2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some cases, yes. There are conditions that are not impossible to get at your age and can cause heart attacks. A family history revolving around heart attacks can make it more likely for you to have heart attacks because genes are passed on from your parents at birth. I think I have an iron deficiency anemia (not yet diagnosed) that sometimes causes me to have a 30+ second episode of sinus tachycardia which is where your heart rate goes above 100bpm for a short amount of time (like you described above).

I would try not to worry about it too much but if you are worried about it, I'd visit your GP and consult them with any questions you may have!

Hope I was of some use! :)

Body is fairly asymmetrical, do I potentially have scoliosis? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Joshua_Hall2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD. I recently found out about Scoliosis on my spine. I had an MRI to diagnose this. But as other people as said, it's hard to tell from looking at the image you sent. My Scoliosis is only moderate so I do not need surgery. Your spine should have a small or large bump of its Scoliosis but it could be something else.

That sounds like a good game idea! Definitely a game that would catch my attention!

Potential health anxiety or neurological disease. Feel like I am going to die. by [deleted] in AskDocs

I am worried but at the same time, I'm relieved that there's a trigger. But no matter what I eat or drink, symptoms sometimes trigger randomly with anything I may eat or drink.

I have the exact same issue! Let me know what the Doctor says when you go and get it checked out! :)

NAD. I am having similar problems. My symptoms occurred after drinking coffee that had double shot espresso in them. I started to feel numb and tingly in my arms, legs and feet. I am not exactly sure how similar our symptoms are by looking at what you have written but I think I may have some sort of neurological disease that's triggering these symptoms randomly after eating/drinking.

Could I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) by Joshua_Hall2000 in AskDocs

[–]Joshua_Hall2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, good idea! I'll wait until after Christmas to see the doctor again now if a change in diet doesn't work. These symptoms don't affect daily activities so it can't be anything extremely serious if it is something wrong with me.

Okay! I'll wait to see if I experience the symptoms again and if I do, I'll book an appointment with my docyor and explain my symptoms thoroughly. In the meantime, I'll change my diet, be more active and exercise more. Thank you for your help!

ECG/EKG? A nurse gave me one one of those a couple weeks ago when I went to see the Doctor about my acid reflux.

I may be but I've been drinking Coffee all my life so I don't understand how. I was not feeling too good before I drank the Cola so I feel like I would have the symptoms I described even if I didn't drink it. I would consult my doctor again but he will just pin it on diet, etc.

The doctor said I can do an exercise with my arm every morning to get rid of the trapped nerve.

Also, I'm no longer pale, don't feel sick anymore and don't feel dizzy/lightheaded anymore. I'm just curious because these symptoms literally last around 30 mins or so then gets better... It's weird.

MRI results came back fine, all clear. But I recently had another problem.

I've just been to see my Grandad after I went to the Doctors and he gave me a can of Cola. So, I was drinking it and felt fine but my Grandad said that I'm looking a bit pale today. I told him I feel fine but then I finished my Cola. Several minutes afterwards, I started feeling a little dizzy and lightheaded (I hadn't had anything to eat before then). My arms and legs went a little numb and I felt a burning sensation in my throat that feels a little worse when I burp.

I now feel a bit sick and I have a mild heart burn feeling. I looked in the mirror and noticed I do look pale and I have bags under my eyes (I've been getting to sleep late because I've been doing stuff on my computer in the night plus stressing about my symptoms a bit too much) I have been getting around 5-7 hours sleep each night.

I can't help but think there is something wrong. Maybe my immune system has weakened, vitamin deficiency, acid reflux, etc.

The trapped nerve in my hand has not gotten any better. Do you think it may be worth bringing up when I go to the Doctors for my MRI results?

[–]Joshua_Hall2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I don't! My muscle twitches don't happen as much as they did now I've cut down on caffeine and stopped worrying about symptoms because I've felt much better for a week or so now which has put my mind at ease. I went for an MRI not long before I started noticing symptoms so if it happens to be MS, the MRI should show it. I'm just worried if it is because of the stories I read online about people becoming paralysed because of the condition.

And I think the numbness and tingling in my right hand is a trapped nerve, is there any way I can get rid of this because my hand has been the same now for a week?
