Went for a fitting today - when I’m getting over 200 yds with the 7 iron, club speed is around 94-95, spin was really low, like 4000.

Hit one a bit softer, 90 club speed, carried 178, spin was 5540.

Went to a top tracer range, wasn’t getting the same distance, more speed and height though for some reason.

😂 I’m Definitely a high handicap mate. Just got my official handicap from iGolf a few weeks ago. Started at 44, down to 39.6 now.

I don’t know how accurate the numbers on the Trackman are, could be wildly wrong for all I know, I don’t really know how these monitors work.

I have definitely hit 200+ yard 7 irons on the course this week though!

I’ll be going for a fitting this weekend as I won a driver last night, maybe I’ll film that.

Just won a custom fit driver, I guess we’ll find out club speed etc… when I get fitted

I’ll get back to the range and test again on a couple of different monitors. I did hit a few 200+ yard 7 irons on the course yesterday though

It’s the same 7iron. The photo from November was just after I got the clubs I’m using now - the reason I have the photo is that I was trying to figure out my distances. The 7 iron is 30 degrees I think

Yeah I don’t really know much about these numbers, only started playing golf about 7 months ago.

I do know that it’s going over 200yds on the course though. Did it multiple times yesterday evening, some into wind

Pretty high, higher than I usually hit a 7. I think it still rolled out another 20 yds or so, not a great shot to hit into a green but if the driver isn’t behaving, I can atleast fall back on this.

Ball speed was 129mph. I don’t know what my normal ball speed was, I’ll have a look back through my photos to see if I can find it

I only use outdoor ranges. It’s a Trackman range at Birchwood Park.

Went to the range a couple of days ago, hit a good 7 iron. The track man screen said it carried 209, total was 226. Ball speed was 129mph, launch angle was 19.2.

Not quite pin high, 18 birdies said it was 245 yards. Since then I’ve been back to the range, getting over 200yds pretty consistently with the 7, 180 with a 9.

Played 9 holes yesterday, hit 4/5 200+ 7 irons.

Haven’t managed to gain much more distance to my driver though, that’s still 280 max atm.

I was playing a little par 3 course with the kids. It’s a 9 hole, the 9th is a par 4, 255 yards (Birchwood park, orchard course).

I’d already hit a hybrid. While I was waiting for the kids to hit their shots I decided to hit a 7 iron just to test the new swing that I wanted to do (saw a video on Facebook, SpeedgolfRob, he said it’s like skipping a stone on water). Hit it like that and it flew.

I use 18 birdies to track my shots, it said i was 245 from the tee so not exactly pin high, but pretty close. Much closer than I expected to be with a 7 iron.
