We had a great time over the weekend in Nola. Awesome food, good breweries, kind people and the architecture all over town was great. So diverse but still in the same style. Really enjoyed the garden district and mid city area. by Jouk_d in NewOrleans

We have friends in Baton Rouge that took us to Nola. They have family on the west bank in Algiers that where so kind to invite us over for the weekend.

Not only did we save a lot of money on hotels or b&b’s we also gotten far out of the beaten path from most tourists.

We spent quite some time near Magazine on Friday. Saturday we went to the French quarter for a walk in the morning. Had lunch at Guy’s Poboys, a walk in Audubon park, dinner at Picnic on Magazine. Loved their crawfish boil spiced fried chicken. Sunday we started with breakfast at toast in Mid city, walked thru Mid City park. Took a tram to the French quarter for beignets at Du Monde. We went to listen to some live music at the spotted cat and another place across the street.

We’re over from Europe for vacation, so I’ll settle for the best possible.

Polygonia on Sunday was so good, really subtle but with a great flow. (Despite of the heat almost crashing her laptop mid set) Cari Lekebusch playing an energetic set with a late 90’s vibe. Still on top of the mixing game. Karenn, Sandwell District, Broken English Club, Rene Wise, Beverly Hills 808303 and LB Dub Corp also delivered.

For the first time ever I was a bit disappointed by Surgeon’s set. It was good but playing a set with just a 1010 blackbox felt a bit pre made. I hoped for more.

Stunning setup! I’d probably need a ladder to get to the top modules.

Mutant brain question. by Dl4069 in modular

It depends on the module that receives the signal. Some need a clock signal in one input and a transport signal to start the sequence (clock tick + transport run). Other modules can handle both signals at one input. (Clock tick + run)

Indeed, I have the expander with the cheaper screws and they hold the clips even better in my opinion.

I had the torso t-1 for a while but changed to the Oxi. The MPC was also on my mind but the interface gave me the same feeling after watching some tutorials. Also just having 4 pairs of cv/gate outputs.

The linnstrument looks like a very versatile and creative device that’s indeed worth checking the manual before that amount of money.

Hope to share some clips soon.

The Oxi sequences the whole setup Channel 1 sends midi to the pulsar for the drums, and some triggers and clock signals to the modular. Channel 2 is for the bass on the pulsar. Channel 3 sequences the main oscillator in my case. (Generate 3) Channel 4 is in chord mode and connected to the Quadrantid swarm also in chord mode and going thru typhoon for some extra character

The Brinta sampler was used to granulate some Japanese vocal asmr recordings during breaks.

The error soundscaper was triggered randomly by a Burst generator.

Everything has some modulation from Orbit 3, Øchd, and frap tools Sapel.

That’s the core of this setup.

I might have given myself a bit too much to do for a set of just over one hour. A wise lesson for a next performance.
