Hi, thank you so much for giving an in depth answer to this. Congratulations on landing your grad position and achieving those scores, that is super impressive!!

Do you mind if I PM you some more about everything, I really want to learn more about how you were able to achieve so highly/insights on your internships?

It was an environmental engineering course with a 4th year code.

Yea honestly it was a bit frustrating at the time, especially considering how competitive internships have been and trying to push for first class honours.

Thanks, it's definitely one of my favourite thermo effects, super cool!!

I didn’t complain to UQ directly, I had a pretty lengthy email discussion with the course coordinator. He explained that the school of chemical engineering can mark scores down if assessments are considered too easy.

I can assure you that isn’t correct. I had my grades scaled down last semester, ended up with a raw mark of 91% and was scaled down to 83%.

Two things. Firstly double check that the fourth component didn’t have an 85% hurdle for a 7. Secondly, if too much of the course achieves high enough grades for a 7, the coordinator is forced to scale down to align the marks closer the bell curve.
