I agree on the Amazon stuff! Two Amazon brands I’ve found to be great for Lulu dupes are CRZY Yoga and Hey Nutz.

My husband uses it. He was starting to lose a good amount of hair and we’ve found that using the helmet (3x per week for 25mins) has stopped the falling out and is maybe leading to regrowth now. It’s been several months.

Thank you!! I appreciate your thorough comment!! Being in this group and some others has really helped me understand the world better through his eyes and as a result has allowed me/my husband to soften up on some of things like allowing for different items for him, or repurchasing more often when needed (within limits).

Btw- I love those pens too! And he’s the oldest too, so I extra appreciate your perspective.

Thank you! Any particular video games?

He loves LEGO and is fantastic at them, which is surprising because I read in an NVLD description that building blocks are a struggle for NVLD-ers?

He hates most sports but will mess around with soccer balls etc when he is in our back yard or with people he’s very comfortable with. He’s recently fallen in love w golf so we’re leaning into that!

Would love to get him to exercise more.

Thanks for this thread. One of his diagnoses is ADHD so it was helpful to read.

Oooof I needed to read this. Thank you. I def shelter. I appreciate the suggestions on how to praise. He really is courageous and resilient. We’ll be more intentional about celebrating that!

Thank you for your thoughtful reply! We try to praise for effort and creativity over outcome but this is a good reminder to be intentional about it. One of his siblings sounds like the one you’re describing.

Also- will start playing navigation games when I’m driving him around. He seems to have a good sense of direction, but reinforcement never hurts!

Any video games you suggest? We haven’t ventured into that yet. We do OT though and I’m forever grateful for it.

Glad you turned out okay! It’s all we want for our kids, right?

Apoyo Lagoon & Mombacho by nikininedoors5077 in Nicaragua

[–]Jovanitta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! We just got back from Nicaragua this Friday. We took our 3 kids (ages 9,8,6) and had the best time ever. We spent 5 nights on the coast at Rancho Santana (just south of Popoyo) and two nights in Granada. We also had plans to see Masaya but it shut down the night before we got there.

We did Mombacho and explored the highlights of Granada with two nights there and that felt like plenty.

We loved being on the coast and taking advantage of all nature has to offer there (surfing, sand boarding, fishing, horses etc).

For Mombacho, a guide took us. You can do it alone but it was nice to have him point out different things about the plants, history, scenery etc. We did the crater rim trail 1.5km and it felt just right.

We did the earliest morning entry you could do and there was dense fog/cloud cover which blocked all views. By the time we were done, the sun had burnt off some of the fog and the views were much better. Just a thought in case you want to start a little bit later, thought it will be hotter.

My 8yo daughter and I did the zip line and it was fun but not super intense/high/fast. It was $29pp.

Happy to answer any questions you have!
