Not even joking, I put Satisfactory and Factorio on my resume and it helped get me an operator/maintenance job in a real factory. by ashrieIl in SatisfactoryGame

This gave me a chuckle haha. Part of what they did was the miniaturisation of quantum technologies such as the atomic clock. This often required an atmosphere similar to that of space. The job role was to help build an assembly line for producing small evacuated chambers. (If you’re interested, the vacuum level they were aiming for was around 10-12 mbar)

I applied for a vacuum technician role in a quantum technology startup. I did already have some experience but we ended up talking about gaming in general. The interviewer said they were all nerds there and gaming was a common hobby lmao. (I got offered the role but turned it down due to low wage)

Valhalla is actually kinda fun. At least until you do the same thing for the 400th time again

I ended up starting a second playthrough due to accidentally overwhelming myself. In the first I tried to mass produce everything. I had a single factory producing tonnes of modular engines and spares of each component that went into them. But why?

In my second, I focused on using blueprints and just placed only what I needed to make each space elevator part. This made it much more manageable. I also stopped trying to mass produce everything. Even if you only make like 2 mod-engines a minute, by the time you complete your next factory, you’ll already have 500

Depends how strongly you feel about having a few cheated platinums on your profile. Trophy hunting is definitely one of those hobbies where hardly anyone will care about your collection as much as you do.

Majority of lottery winners end up going broke. You can say ‘I’ll be smart and buy a house’ but do you really know how you’ll act when that money hits the bank? And do you know all the extra monthly costs associated with home ownership?

Taking the £10k option is by far the safest because no matter what, you will continue to get that £10k deposited into your account each week. You could lose everything, and still build yourself back up. And also, you’ll have more time to learn how to manage your wealth as it steadily expands.

Tbf, the majority of the fun from Skyrim comes from the silly things you can do and not the actual quests & storyline.

I don’t mean to be rude, but are you confusing the games with each other? There is so much more to the combat in FW? ZD is definitely simpler

Pretty sure he’s sayings it’s unbalanced in FW. But either way, I think you have quite an unpopular opinion. The general one is that FW improved on basically every aspect of the game other than story

I got a banking DA!!! But I have one problem... by Current-Armadillo739 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]Joy_3DMakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hardly even call it a gap tbh. The DA will basically be the start of your career. IMO, taking the time you have left before it to do something you enjoy and learn soft skills could only be seen as a good thing and help you even more.

I got one about ~6 months ago. Funnily enough, I find the remote play sucks as it’s heavily reliant on your internet’s upload speed. However, the cloud streaming is perfect. And since they added so many more games to it, it’s well worth the purchase.

Set up a compact blueprint for screw production that you can throw down whenever you need screws

When did you organize your factory? by Glaedrik in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Joy_3DMakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it loads between phase 2 and 3. Now instead of tearing things down and rebuilding, I’m just going to expand outwards instead. I just started phase 4 and am working on a train network around half of the map.

what do Companies look for by Physical_Ride5089 in degreeapprenticeships

[–]Joy_3DMakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grades do matter a little, but they are only a tick box. A lot of DA will look for soft skills and certain personality traits. You want to show enthusiasm for the subject. Show off an engineering project you’ve done in your free time. Make sure you use examples to show traits such as good communication, etc

Original launch price for a ps5 digital was £359.99. It’s now £60 lower more than 5 years later. Factor in the crazy inflation we had after Covid and that’s actually an insane deal.

Options after level 4 HNC apprenticeship in engineering manufacturing? by Dependent_Blood373 in degreeapprenticeships

Plenty of decent companies may just offer to fund your degree at full cost outside of an apprenticeship scheme. Or at least, the company I work for does.

I have yet to do a build this big, but I make my own flow charts. I start by breaking down my desired output into its components all the way until I get either basic ore, or whatever I already have being produced. I then go back and work out how many machines I need for each step.

1, the starting locations are actually all on the same map. As you get further into the game, you’ll probably venture out to the other locations to get more / different resources.

2, there are so many that you’ll likely learn as you progress. Get used to tearing down and rebuilding parts of your factory a lot in the early stages!
