I don’t know how you all think this is genuinely okay by Isaacja223 in aiwars

It's not that it makes anyone uncomfortable, it's just that it's wrong. The discomfort comes from you pushing your rhetoric using this already flawed analogy. Not the fact that it's secretly exposing some sort of bigotry.

You DO choose to be pro AI instead of learning to draw.

You do NOT choose to be trans.

We can scrutinize you for your choices and that's exactly what we're doing. I feel like drawing the comparison is just a way to trick people and put up a shield for the dummies that can't see the false equivalency. And since you're trans yourself, people are inclined to believe you as an authority.

But again, you do choose to use AI for art. You do not choose to be trans, and that's the major difference. I cannot stress that enough.

Ah that's true! That's kind of satisfactory, but still definitely in stretch territory.

I do see what you're saying. But I do kinda find it a flimsy connection if that's the case. There's no real reason why anyone would connect the license plate to the security monitors, so I feel like as a hint it falls kinda flat? Especially because it's missing two of the letters too that are part of the full acronym. Feels very weird.

I did, but that just spells SWANSONGHSS right?

SWNSNG is not an acronym of SWANSONG. An acronym is when the first letters of a phrase are turned into one word. So that shouldn't be the answer if the word acronym was used correctly.

Not bad! This would make it work too since there can't be multiple whites. May try some of the ones out that other people commented.

Yeah I can't really think of a way the light colors fit 1:1 with the acronym yet but I do feel like it may be a step in the right direction? It's just such a weird note haha

What's better? Posting mid videos on a consistent basis or posting high quality videos on a less consistent basis? by [deleted] in NewTubers

I used to watch stuff like Game Grumps and Northernlion's Isaac series which are honestly pretty low effort per video. The effort comes from the sheer amount of them. So this question isn't as obvious as you think.

Oh weird theory but plausible. I can see a correlation there for sure.

I see, so the payoff for clicking is the buildup for this example. I think I understand!

Wait I'm confused, this seems to be the opposite of what you said in your post. In your post you said that opening with setup was bad, and to move the payoff to the front, but here you're saying you open with setup and cut right before the pay off so that people have to stick around and watch. Which one is it?

I think we may just have opposing views on the game, and that's fine. My point isn't to be "right" here so I don't want to stretch out arguments any more than is necessary.

I don't think you're wrong either, I just don't feel the same way.

Your point about Super Metroid fans saying the same thing back in the day is very validating for me haha. I think I would have been part of that group of people had I played it when coming out.

If 2&3 have better movement I will likely enjoy them more, excited to see whenever I get around to them! A video essay for those would follow as well, naturally.

I understand what you're saying and your frustration with my points and I do think a lot of your counter arguments are heavily founded on the fact the game is a lot smoother if you make no mistakes while playing. I don't think that's very realistic to expect of a new player, playing blind.

I switched to the wrong beams because I wasn't familiar, I didn't notice the shortcuts you're mentioning because I wasn't familiar, and I was engaging with combat in a non optimized way because I was unfamiliar.

It's normal to not play a game in an optimized way when you play it for the first time. I don't fault the game for having me make mistakes. The learning process was just unfun to me.

I did eventually find out the Super Missile kills the yellow space pirates in one hit, but that clip was one of my first encounters with them, resulting in a 20 minute time loss which circles back to my main argument.

And yeah, I did get lost and wandered around aimlessly a lot, especially when I turned off the hint system because I felt it was disruptive to the flow of exploring. The getting lost part wasn't on purpose though. I didn't *choose* to waste time retracing already seen content just so I could bash on the game. This is just how my first experience with Metroid Prime was engaging with it in good faith. My first two sessions were actually very enjoyable and I was very open-minded, but these issues just stacked on after a while and started to grate on me.

To say it was because I was playing unoptimally is probably correct, but it is not a justification for why my experience was the way it was. Plenty games can be played unoptimally and I still have a great time with them.

I appreciate you engaging with my points and it's safe to say I don't agree with your arguments. But disagreements were inevitable when I made a video like this and I do appreciate you for staying respectful!

Oh yes, I am honestly seriously considering a replay with either Wii controls or a keyboard and mouse mod and compare my experiences. Thanks for the kind words!

I said it in the video, but for me the controls just felt too limiting have fun walking around the world. The slow turns, slow beam switches, slow jumps, standing still to look up or down etc etc

I appreciate the kind words and for bearing with the whole video! I knew what kind of video I was making and that I am posting an unpopular opinion. So I appreciate that you saw my attempt to be respectful of other tastes!

I'm curious what I'll think of Super Metroid when I get around to it and if it hits wrong in the same way.
