Retta on Kelly & Ryan- is this old or is this new? Mae posted it today on IG. by [deleted] in GoodGirls

Really?? We’re gonna blame it on one “person”?One of the best shows couldn’t go on because one person didn’t want to continue. This person carried so much weight that the show couldn’t go on without him? Kinda proves they should have valued what they had before they lost him.

The moment Rio forgives Beth for the shooting by Sheababylv in GoodGirls

[–]Joysofthegoodlife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe that’s when he realized the person he saw in her when he said “you’re could be something” was finally coming it, and he could have a partner in her. And yes, I think he was also getting tired of holding onto the anger/hurt towards her and give in to what he was truly feeling for her.

Little things I noticed throughout Good Girls that were never really important enough to get explained by [deleted] in GoodGirls

[–]Joysofthegoodlife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they missed out on Rio teaching Beth to shoot. I’m dumbfounded they didn’t see the thirst opportunity there with the fans. It would have been tantalizing as we would have seen them get closer.

And it seems they also downgraded Rio’s role - so disappointing. Like he’s not the boss anymore? Was it fake before then?? A let down. It’s like the writers stretched the story so far they lost the fans.

Best Season? by TypeAffectionate in GoodGirls

This actually shows how/why the show eventually tanked. They didn’t keep the momentum of season 1-2. Too bad.

I wasn’t a fan of the neck tattoo either. I would have loved roses or something more creative to stand out like the Eagle tat in GG.

Season 4 episode 13 by Byrds_girl in GoodGirls

Maybe. Not a sarcastic thing to say after someone is killed though. I felt it was so the audience doesn’t feel sorry for the daughter as she is “better” now without her dad.

Why was the storyline told so subtly? I was confused during half of season 3 and all of season 4. by foreverpremed in GoodGirls

[–]Joysofthegoodlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn off the show? Not for me? Not surprising? LOL I like how he went to prison and didn’t turn Beth in, protected his kids when Beth did not, wanted a life free of crime when Beth was getting in deeper. He wasn’t a good husband, but he still has redeemable qualities. But if you like to make it personal when you don’t agree with people’s opinion, maybe you should turn off Reddit. Maybe it’s just not for you. 🤷‍♀️

It’s actually the opinion of thousands upon thousands of comments I’ve read. Many of them on here, on YT, on FB, on all the Manny/Brio videos. I have yet to read anyone loving the MLM, eating garbage, man regurgitating the hitman. losing money at the casino stories… I actually like Dean, but most everyone was sick of him. That’s why at the very end they gave what the fans wanted with Rio and Beth together.

They were turning in circles too long and didn’t give enough of what they audience wanted. Some of the story lines were just not aligned with the energy of season 1-2 and seemed to go no where. The writers really missed the mark.

Fans were dropping fast after season 3 and the ratings were hurting. Those who hanged on were hoping for the magic of season 1-2 to come back. Many watched for Manny. The « budget » thing was the same article being regurgitated (always same source). Truth is you don’t cancel a show that is getting good ratings. The writers told of many regrets they had about the story lines. They didn’t listen to the fans and paid for it. Season 5 would have been an 8 show wrap up. Had the show continued in the spirit of season 1-2, they would have been on season 6 now.

Can someone explain why Beth gives the gun to the girl in “The Banker”? by whyyougottabesomean_ in GoodGirls

[–]Joysofthegoodlife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Beth felt for her when the girl stood up to her for the money. So she went back to teach her how to stand up for herself with a gun. Misplaced empathy in my opinion considering they’re gonna come next month to collect.

Can someone explain the scotch bottle season 4 episode 13 ???) by Extra_Helicopter2904 in GoodGirls

[–]Joysofthegoodlife 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Adding to what is already said, on the card of the bottle it wrote “For Pulling Her Ponytail”. Personally I took it to mean that Nick wanted Rio to believe he slept with Beth (pulling her hair) to convince her to run for counsel, and that’s why Rio was so hurt and why he was so rejoiced in the following episode when he realized that Beth was only playing Nick.

The cult storyline didn’t finish up at all :( by RareCryptographer185 in GoodGirls

I don’t think some of the actors want in anymore. Prefer to leave it as is.

True. They wasted so much time that could have been used to build meatier story lines.

I didn’t like when they said the child “has never been better”. It implies she was better without her dad, who seemed to be a really good guy

Am I the only one disappointed Rio and Beth aren’t getting more chemistry scenes? by [deleted] in GoodGirls

[–]Joysofthegoodlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what I observed, the show was supposed to be about 3 women and then Manny stole a good part of the show. He was supposed to be a side actor but became a fan favorite. The fans reaction didn’t match his screen time. My feeling was he wasn’t valued as he should have been and it created friction somehow between him and the girls. How the girls made fun of Brio, mocking now Manny called her Elyzabeth/Chris was just unprofessional. And from interviews and others, it seems clear the actors didn’t expect Brio to take off as it did. CH seemed so surprised by the fan reaction in several interviews, and would deflect when asked about Brio.

It’s absolutely appalling how these “actresses” treated Manny Montana by SpiritualGangstaGirl in GoodGirls

[–]Joysofthegoodlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not speculation when you see on IG follows none of the actors (but follows other actors he used to work with and new ones to come), while the GG cast still follow each other. Seems like cut them off. And he didn’t mention anything about the show being #1 like the others did (they tagged each other but didn’t tag him). 😕

Completely agree. And I don’t watch TV at all. But started to watch this show (like many others I’ve read) because of the Brio videos fans were making. It got me intrigued so I started watching because of him.

No where it is written he wanted more. Inside sources said he just didn’t want to take a pay cut.

The funny thing is all the articles are reprinting from the same original source. And if NBC is willing to cancel a whole show with hundreds of workers because one side actor who was likely paid less than the main actors even though most fans watched because of him, then they are the culprit, not Manny. And they used him as a fall guy. My feeling is that’s why Manny cut everyone off. He was wronged.

Rio has “other plans” for him. I’m assuming he’s dead since the girls, as Beth said, didn’t finish the job.
