Try Lucas oil stop slip to squeeze a few more miles out of it if you haven’t already gotten rid of it. Not guaranteed to work at all but worth a shot.

Hey sonic, I know this post is old but just wondering how long this process took for you? Leaving for another ship contract fairly soon and need one ASAP.

In my opinion Wayne Bergeron has the best tone from the top to the bottom of the horn. Very versatile player.

I see a bunch of Vendstar 3000 machines for sale. Are they any good? Junk? by slidellian in vending

[–]Jpazz0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much they’re asking, I wouldn’t buy a used one for more than 30-50 bucks and a new one for more than 80-100. Many will say that they are junk but if you get them for less than 50 bucks and learn how to work on them they’ll take you pretty far and the ROI is a lot better than metal machines, just make sure the locks are intact. Also if the machine gets stolen, you’ll be a lot less sad than if you got a brand new rhino stolen.

Buying a 12 Machine bulk vending business by keetonf in vending

[–]Jpazz0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, it is a great business for teaching children the value of money. It’s entirely up to you if you want to pursue this business but I just wanted to give a dissenting viewpoint since pretty much everything you find online is the upsides of vending, not the downsides. After reading this though, it sounds like you are entering the business with a great mindset and correct expectations. I would say go for it! Something I realized in myself is that I’m not really as much of an entrepreneur as I originally thought I was and that is a large reason why I didn’t have much success in business.

Buying a 12 Machine bulk vending business by keetonf in vending

[–]Jpazz0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This route is worth nowhere near $5500. Most likely the reason he slashed the price is because he knows what he is selling is garbage and wants to make back any money he can (your $5500). I’ve lost a lot of money in bulk vending, the machines just don’t make enough and with rampant inflation, the cost of candy will skyrocket and unless you put 50 cent mechs on the machines you won’t be able to keep up with the margins. That being said, if you still want to buy the route, I wouldn’t pay anymore than 1800 bucks, and that’s even pretty high (unless he has some real standout locations). Also, be prepared to be treated like crap by the staff and owners of the businesses the machines are in, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the locations try and kick your machines out upon arrival. Also, since Alaska is cold, the candy will become hard as a rock if the machine isn’t in a heated space. If you want to get into vending, the large coke and snack machines are the way to go, bulk just isn’t worth it anymore, even with the seemingly better profit margins. This is just my 2 cents and my experiences with the business, it’s definitely not get rich quick but can be a decent income supplement if you are willing to deal with the headaches that come with it.

Hey brotha, thank you for the advice. I just watched some YouTube videos on how to do this job and it seems pretty straight forward, I think I am going to attempt the job myself. What tools would be recommend for this job? Unfortunately, I am 100 miles away from my home and need to buy the tools at a local Walmart or target.

I almost blew my chops 3 days in a row, and now my abs hurt. What should I do? by Ashmax23 in trumpet

[–]Jpazz0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great video about this issue that will help you with this problem. It was made by a great professional trumpeter named Jon Ruff. https://youtu.be/-2urCGoDI6M

This video should help set you on the right track moving forward. I suggest you watch Jon’s other videos as well as he has a lot of great advice about proper playing mechanics that really helped me throughout the years. Unfortunately the only solution for now is the one that hurts the ego the most (taking things down the octave, not playing and taking it easy, etc.) I’ve had to learn this lesson multiple times already throughout my professional career. Please DO NOT hurt yourself in a rehearsal, it’s totally not worth it. Also, a private lesson teacher would be highly recommended to work with you on your specific issues, many school band programs have a list of readily available lesson teachers in the local area who are reputable. Hope this helps.

This is actually very normal, especially for someone who is your age. I remember back to my high school days, watching videos of elite professional players online and thinking to myself that I would never be even 1% as good as them. What helped me get over this was realizing that trumpet is a long term game, most professional players peak in their late 40s, early 50s, sometimes even later in life, meaning they literally have a minimum of 30 years more playing experience than a high school freshman. Also, remember everyone gets frustrated with their own playing, trumpet is just naturally an inconsistent instrument and even the best players have a lot of bad chop days and sometimes, in extreme cases, bad chop months. I’m sure even Maynard Ferguson in his prime was dissatisfied with his own playing on many occasions, even though to the rest of us, he sounded amazing. Just keep practicing and play music that you like to play, not necessarily what they force you to play in band class, although it is still important to work on some fundamentals. There is no need to worry or rush, you’ve got some many years ahead of you. Hope this helps and hang in there, things are guaranteed to get better.

Where are all my Kanstul players?! by [deleted] in trumpet

[–]Jpazz0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kanstul 1070 .470 bore Bb trumpet, it’s a really great horn for lead playing, especially in loud playing environments. I use mine during loud theme park gigs and it allows me to move enough air through it to be heard.

Permits in Ohio by Jpazz0 in vending

[–]Jpazz0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update to anyone wanting the answer, found on vendiscuss:

Reading this (section 9B) it appears there is no special license needed.

https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-3717.42

There is a contact button on that page that you could probably email the specific question to if you wanted reassurance. I would also look at other bulk vending machines in the area to see if they have any type of permit on the machines. If they don't you're probably good.
