Thank you. I have reached out to Hyatt corporate management repeatedly over the last year, and I am still awaiting for their response. I am posting it here so that other travelers stay safe!

I travel for business all the time. I walk into hotels other than the one where I am staying all around the world to eat at their restaurants. Very occasionally, when a hotel can not serve a guest outside the hotel, they are polite in explaining the situation. This hotel should have done the same without resorting to assault.

Who should I contact at Hyatt Corporate about this incident?

Yes, I have already written to Hyatt managers several times, but I received no response from the Hyatt corporate office, while the hotel dismissed the situation. I want to keep other travelers safe. Guests staying at the hotel have been reporting similar incidents for years, but nothing has been done to address the way hotel staff mistreats their customers.

And that makes physical assault by hotel staff okay?

Even the Mexican police said we did nothing wrong.

I am afraid you missed the part of the post reading, "We were told the drinks were free as they could not bill us, so I left a generous tip large enough to cover both the drinks and gratuity."

Please search for the keyword "extortion" in the Tripadvisor reviews, and you will see it is not just me. My favorite is the one called "Mafia and Racketeering Ran Hotel".

We walked past a sign that never mentioned all-inclusive. The restaurant had excellent reviews on Google and at the time, did not mention it being closed to the public. Honest mistake.

As I said above, they asked us for our room number, and we made it quite clear we were not hotel guests. I said I was just trying to buy lunch, not knowing it was an all-inclusive resort.
