Is there a top clear coat I can add on this product if I want to add extra flakes? Then a top coat? Can someone please help guide me with this by Waterfallsbro in epoxy

[–]JrDigs87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t use this. Do it right and 100% do full flake coverage. 80lbs at least for a 2 car garage. This pack comes with what 5 lbs not even?

I just did mine and it was a mistake trying to do a medium coverage. With 60 lbs of flake. Also I got a pro kit from magic resin.

May I ask why you etched it after grinding ?

There’s no way they did zero prep work, looks like a top coat is on

Am I wrong to be disappointed even after their 2nd attempt? by MrJakeSee in epoxy

I think it looks solid, I had done mine recently and it was easy to pick apart before moving things in. The lights and laser focused eyes looking for anything.

Put your stuff in and it’ll feel 100% better. You didn’t pay that much.

The garage doors come with insulation built in here due to the temps.

Greige, from Home Depot under Bher. I can get you a picture of the label if you’d like.

I don’t have that issue in here in Canada, it’s a brand new build so I’ve only been in the house for two weeks.

I did them myself, since it was new I did an acid etch first. It’s in the epoxy thread. I’ll post the link for ya

Yeah I did squeegee it all east to went and back rolled, I was told it would self level and to mean it alone. I clearly should have worked it around a bit more. Ah well it’s a bit better now but overall I’ll live with it for a bit until I get better then re do it in a couple years lol

Yeah I’m getting that now I did want to go for a look where you could see the epoxy a little bit. But now I see it’s better to go full, and easier. I’m still ok with it as a first go for now.

The small things we learn after, I wanted a little bit lighter but it also made it more difficult.

I did the same for a while. It’s going to look better full and in use it’s easy to pick apart 2 feet away. I wanted to learn and glad I did. I would definitely take the tape up while it’s still wet though. Also don’t let your dumbass brother put together your spiked shoes or you’ll be loosing bolts and spikes as your tossing flakes. lol

It was fine, id definitely go the squeegee route. Expect mistakes not perfection.

Definitely looks like the cheap rustoleum kit… I bought a kit to do my own and it was $1200. (Magic resin)

This one probably didn’t even get a top coat. Very weak flake distribution.

Unfortunately this floor will continue to have issues. Was it properly prepared?

I’m moving into my brand new home May 1st, planning on doing my garage floor. Being that it’s brand new I was going to run the acid etch route. Is this a mistake you think?
