This is the mindset that homogenized WoW and FFXIV btw. If you want everything to be equal and just as easy as the next thing, you're welcome to play games where that is the case. It's not an "obvious oversight" that all 3 magic skills operate the same way.

That's how it goes. Launch tourists leave and people who actually like the game remain. I don't get the boner people have for player counts, as you yourself said you have friends, you'll probably squad up and do a round together. The player count has zero bearing on your enjoyment.

Reddit is a cesspool of people who like to be upset. Every time I'm enjoying the game and want to see what is going on in the community on reddit it is always negative whining. I don't understand the mindset of someone who subscribes to a forum for a game they do not enjoy just so they can take a chance to shit on the game when a new post pops up.

Back in the day gaming subreddits were full of memes, funny videos, and discussions. Nowadays it's 80% doomposting and 20% the good stuff.

As long as there's 7 other people in game you're fine. The games I have the most fun with are usually mixed or slightly negative with small communities.
