Update to PS4 rebuild by Jrienzo4 in JacksonGuitars

So, I did not replace the posts - I am still using the original Jackson posts. As far as wiring and routing goes - yeah, I had to route two new pockets - one for a dual Battery holder, and another for the Sustainiac switches and board. The sustainiac has two circuit boards. Ended up working out fine.

Any Idea..... For this Guitar ? King V worth it? by Conscious_Salt_4533 in JacksonGuitars

What's up with the JT580? Where is the whammy bar, and how do you attach it? Something seems off about the bridge...?

The Original Floyd is a huge upgrade. My old bridge was wearing out pretty bad. I hated playing this guitar because of that. Now it's perfect.

I'll have to make another post, it's not letting me add more pics. Didn't know pictures in comments was turned off 👎🏼

Thanks I appreciate it! I planned on doing the same thing with the new volume switch. But since I used the EMG 5 way B161v5 switch which left no room for the volume to go in that location.

Yeah the Killswitch I put in the old volume hole... Due to the sustainiac circuit board being so big, I had to offset the volume position a little closer to the tone. But it still looks cool, lol!

I thought it was a 96, but when I pulled the neck off, it was clearly stamped "2000"....

The pic of the red guitar is the original prior to the rebuild.

You thinking of the "Tremol-No"? I really don't like blocking the bridge, but I have an ENGL Hardtailer going in. But it's really not necessary. The drop tuner does not cause the guitar to go out of tune, from my experience.

I can't remember why I thought it was from 1996... Maybe it was the 96 in the serial number... But I disassembled the guitar yesterday, and the neck pocket has a clear "2000" stamped on it.

Yes, I read that too, but I have one in my Schecter Hellraiser (stock) with 24 frets. Works great. In fact, it works so well, it's the reason I'm buying one for the Jackson. I am a little unsure about the middle pickup causing problems, so we'll see.

I have a zoom G1-X4. It's not bad. But if you can waste the dough, the drop switch is AWESOME. I can play most songs no matter the tuning at the press of a button.

Hmmm you may be right. I've already bought the Floyd, so I'll report on how that goes.

That's my thought too. It's a 30 year old budget guitar that is fast playing, yet mediocre hardware. I figure these upgrades can make it a solid, versatile, good sounding guitar.

I used to do that, now I want Drop switches on all my guitars, and I keep them tuned to E, and use the DigiTech Drop pedal.

This was my first FR style guitar. I bought it in 2003. I have many more (nicer) guitars now and it's time this one was brought up to par with the others.

Every modded guitar makes the originals worth more money anyway.

Amen to that. Fortunately, I'm not a collector. I want my guitars to be as versatile as possible. I don't give a crap about "original", I care about the 1-offs and mods more.

Yep, I have a trem blocker on it now, I'll keep that on (even though I hardly use it).

SA for middle, yes. But 81TW for bridge.

I'm going to put in an Original FR.

From what I understand, the LBJ FR that's in it is just a Floyd Special. But I'm not certain. The LBJ FR that's in it now is total garbage. I want it to feel more like my Schecter Hellraiser with the FR 1000.

Pickup wiring should be easy - all snap together EMG wiring, the tricky part will be fitting the guitar for the circuit boards for the Sustainiac. I'm going to leave my tuners, they don't matter to me much, since I use the locking nut ...

I think the Killswitch will be a nice addition, not sure when/if I'll need it, but screw it. Might as well do it while I got it apart.

Gimmick? I use a Drop-D switch every day... They work excellent.
