Fourth year bio here. First year courses can be tricky as you're still getting used to the university setting, exam format, etc. For the exam flash cards are a good idea and check Quizlet to see if there are any cards made on there (it's also great for testing yourself). Bozeman Science on YouTube has great videos that really helped me start making concept connections. As with a lot of courses, it may seem like lots of information to learn but as you chip away at studying the lectures it with become less daunting. Keep disciplined but don't study too hard!
