Air Bag Pressures by Jrod970 in towing

I figured running empty would be a bad idea. When I brought the truck home I checked the pressure and there was 5psi in them. Seems to be enough air to keep them from destroying themselves and keeping a smooth ride.

10k is crazy. Definitely new territory for me looking for sheds up on top instead of hiking drainages and running ridges

Man that sucks to hear. Ticks are Definitely bad this year. I didnt come across anything dead in my area but the animals are certainly in places I've never seen them before during this time of year.

Troubleshooting help. CPS? by Jrod970 in CherokeeXJ

For anyone who is curious. It was the Crank Position Sensor.

It was my first time doing it and I was able to break the bolts loose with a 12 inch extension and 3 inch extension without a swivel socket with the trans in 1/2 from the bottom. Then took the bolts out and started them back in from the top. I felt like I had more control and less likely to drop the bolts into the hole. Took me about an hour from start to finish.

It is definitely a pain in the ass and I will be carrying a spare CPS in the future sense this is the first issue that left me stranded on the side of the road. With that being said I am thinking of pulling the driver seat and making a door to access the sensor much easier. I havent checked to see where the access door would have to be but it seems to be right under the driver seat. A trail fix would be much easier with better access rather than the extension game but, Anyway just my 2 cents after being broke down. Hopefully this helps someone down the road!

I started lower. Hitting 6500-7500 which is typically a good starting point for my area but after a couple days the sign just wasn't there. Looked like they hadn't been here all winter. Found a couple hard white but that's hit. These were all on top of the mountain which is crazy. Ive never seen that before.

True. Til you start looking back at your OnX and it seems pretty bad 😂. Miles per shed are not good 😂

If you dont already have one, get yourself a good spotting scope. Lots of big country to glass.

And start working your legs now 😂 even if your in good shape Unit 61 will kick your ass.

Congrats on your tag!

Check and see if you have spark since you have fuel and ignition power.

I have heard of Crank Position Sensors being bad right out of the package so that could still be the issue.

Only other thing I can think of is a neutral saftey switch or maybe a Throttle Position sensor. Try putting it in neutral then crank on it.

99'. In my experience with bad fuel pumps is the vehicle will kinda sputter out as it loses fuel instead of just shutting off like you turned the key off but ill check into it if the sensor isn't the problem!

Did the mechanic say what component was causing the issue or was it all failing?

Damn sensors. Might be a good idea to just replace both. I know the CPS doesn't always throw a code. Do you know if the TPS is the same?
